they need to stop letting these fraudsters have any kind of immunity... but its yet another of the worlds failed institutions, which; in spite of it's obvious and egregious failings, is still regarded as to big to fail...

According to several well-placed vaticanisti—or Vatican experts—in Rome, Benedict is resigning after being handed a secret red-covered dossier that included details about a network of gay priests who work inside the Vatican, but who play in secular Rome. The priests, it seems, are allegedly being blackmailed by a network of male prostitutes who worked at a sauna in Rome’s Quarto Miglio district, a health spa in the city center, and a private residence once entrusted to a prominent archbishop. The evidence reportedly includes compromising photos and videos of the prelates—sometimes caught on film in drag, and, in some cases, caught “in the act.”

It wouldn't surprise me, but it would surprise me more if that were the only thing. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would like to keep it to this. It's the kind of story that people can easily latch on to and it mans that more boring stories about business interests won't get much play.

I sort of agree....except none of this looks good. In my view - and maybe I'm just so disgusted with religion in general and the catholic church in particular that I just don't believe anyone in there is "good"

having gone to catholic school I know this - although I have certainly forgotten all the number details because i don't give a crap.

still, quite interesting when seen this way: very insular and cultish

you can see why nuns get pissed off. They spend their lives doing all this great work and never get the acclaim.
