Hundreds of Names in Sealed Epstein Materials, Judge Told

A lawyer for alleged victims of Jeffrey Epstein told a judge that hundreds of names of people associated with the late money manager should be made public in documents that are currently sealed in a defamation lawsuit.

Sigrid McCrawly, who has represented victims for five years, said at a hearing Wednesday in New York that only social security numbers, medical information and the names of minors should be kept secret as more documents are unsealed in the case, and that everything else should come to light.

“Anybody whose information is in the documents would be notified so they could object,” McCrawley, of the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, said at the hearing.

The names could appear in deposition transcripts and other filings in the case, which settled on the eve of trial in 2017.

The remarks preview a brewing fight over the privacy of people whose names appear in at least two subsets of documents that U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska will consider unsealing, following an appeals court order that many such filings should be made public. Preska said she’ll consider the documents in batches in a process that will take weeks or months.

In addition, the movie uses child abuse as a plot device, making the song choice even more questionable.

Gary Glitter was arrested in the late 1990s for downloading child pornography. In 2015, Glitter was found guilty of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault, and one count of having sex with a girl under the age of 13. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. It's at this point that "Rock and Roll Part 2" was taken out of sports events from around the world. It was used heavily in the NHL and NFL in North America, but it was later phased out completely. So why did Todd Phillips use it?

Most critics of Joker are angry over the fact that a convicted pedophile will receive money from the successful movie. One critic calls the song choice the "most morally questionable" aspect of the movie as a whole. It seems that Todd Phillips was fully aware of this when making the movie and used it to his advantage to spark outrage within the movie and in the real-world. At this point it's hard not to think of Phillips' directorial debut, which is a documentary on the life of notorious punk rock musician GG Allin, who took everything to extremes and made it his life goal to kill himself on stage (he later died of a heroin overdose after a show).

The operation, which was called “Operation Broken Arrow,” resulted in the arrest and charging of 14 people. Each of the 14 communicated online with undercover agents that they believed were children. Those that were charged in the investigation then traveled to meet the child but were greeted instead by police officers.
