I think non ped0s find it disgusting and morally repugnant to even abuse the child actors, let alone market to ped0s. I won't watch, but heard/read descriptions of what happens from someone who attempted to review it. Not for me. You were really OK with this and sat through the movie, coming out the other end thinking this is legitimate art? You would be the first person I know out who thinks this is all OK, and that includes countless parents and grandparents of girls. Going by the RT audience score, you'd be in very, VERY rare company. I'm not sure this is the ground you want to die on.

OTOH I sure hope you aren't just simply repeating what you heard a certain Forbes shill say. From your phrasing, I'm starting to think you read Forbes and adopted a certain shill's opinion without question because it is more comfortable for you than looking at reality.

Do let me know if you did indeed watch this movie and found the theme of "11 year old girls exploring their sexuality against their conservative parents will" to be empowering and strong, as the original Netflix description stated.

I don't read Forbes but perhaps they read me. I haven't read any reviews but I saw the trailer. From it I was able to glean the storyline and themes and also detect that it was French. It's a long way from the sensibilities of the Frenchand the puritanism of North America.

It's interesting that little girls will emulate adults and the US exports twerking video around the world but don't like seeing the results of all the kids that emulate the hip hop starlets they see.

I didn't see the movie and therefore don't have the right to criticize it, nor do I know whether the lead character chose to pursue the wild side or become a good little Muslim girl like her mummy (and red) would want. But it also doesn't interest me enough to make the appointment with netflix.
 
My wife is attempting to watch it to see if it's really as bad as it is said to be. She like me can't believe Netflix can just put out blatantly illegal content without legal ramifications, so she wants first hand confirmation. I'll see what she has to say and if she can even stomach finishing it. The fact that they supposedly have 11 year old nudity in it makes it literally illegal child pornography. By law you can go to prison and be labeled a sex offender for watching it. She watching through a high seas source.

My wife watched it. I have to be fair and report back that she didn't find it as bad as reported, but still has issues with it.

The scene with the 11 year old girl lifting her shirt and exposing breasts does happen. She says the scene is brief and the way it is cut, she thinks maybe a body double was used. (Still illegal content as far as I can tell)

She says that the movie does indeed have a message about how social media fuels girls to act like this. She said she could possibly watch it with a theoretical 11 year old daughter/granddaughter as a teaching experience. (I'm a dad/granddad, not a mom/grandmother)

She thinks it is a dumb movie and questions why it was made. She thinks that absolutely PD's would latch on to it. She says the most controversial scenes are only a few minutes of screen time.

This is only a few lines of text after a long-ish conversation. She did have issues with the movie.

Netflix indicted on child porn charges over 'Cuties'

A Texas grand jury has indicted streaming giant Netflix on child pornography charges.

The indictment accuses Netflix and its top executives of “promotion of lewd visual material depicting [a] child” with regard to the controversial French film “Cuties.”

State Rep. Matt Schaefer, Tyler Republican, posted a copy of the first page of the Tyler County grand jury’s finding on his Twitter page.

According to the indictment, which was handed down Sept. 23 but only revealed Tuesday, Netflix did “knowingly promote visual material which depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time.”

The indictment goes on to note, relevant to the legal definitions of pornography, that the visual material in “Cuties” appeals to the prurient interest in sex, and has no serious, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.”

Charter Jet CEO Arrested for Alleged Child Sex Trafficking

Fifty-seven-year-old Bronx resident Paul Alexander was arrested Thursday for allegedly trafficking girls as young as 12 years old.

“The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the state prosecutor’s office called ‘Operation Mile High’ — a nod to his job as CEO of Central Jet Charter, New York Attorney General Letitia James said Saturday,” the New York Post reported.

Alexander allegedly charged an undercover agent $300 for sex with two girls, with both victims earning a third of the money, the article read.

The New York attorney general’s office detailed the events in a press release on Saturday:
Through the use of covert recording devices, social media, and undercover operations, the investigative team determined that Alexander was, in fact, trafficking children across county lines for sex. The initial investigation began in March after a female minor reported Alexander to the NYPD, alleging that Alexander sexually abused her and other underage girls, and promoted them for prostitution to other men. An undercover police officer met with Alexander who charged him a total of $300 for sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old victim and a 14-year-old victim — and encouraged the undercover officer to use alcohol and marijuana to make the victims more cooperative.

Alexander was arraigned Saturday and charged with “multiple counts of Sex Trafficking of a Child, Attempted Sex Trafficking of a Child, related counts of First and Second Degrees of Promoting Prostitution, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child,” the release said.

If convicted of the top counts, he faces up to 50 years in prison.

“Alexander was added to the state’s Sex Offender Registry after he was arrested in 2003 on charges of kidnapping and having ‘deviate sexual intercourse’ with a 17-year-old girl in Yonkers,” the New York Daily News reported.
