fill up ziplock bags with water and fill your entire freezer with them.
fill up your bathtub with water, fill your refrigerator with water jugs
cook any raw food in your refrigerator now
then put cooked food in ziplock bags and refreeze

Ice gets hard to find once the electricity goes out ;)

well, as you can see all the RED areas are right next to the water.
I have a HS friend who lives in one of those RED areas and she's manning her water pumps. yeah, I know she technically is supposed to NOT be there, but...well.....we are made of tough stuff, us new yorkers.

Anyway, I am on high ground. The roof has no leaks.....windows all sealed up...and I sure hope we don't lose electricity, but high winds blow down trees. so, who knows?

they claim the worse will be tomorrow.....the subway is already shut down.

they also claim it was suppose to start raining now and it's not.

I'm busy watching Dexter :D

well we all hope you dont blow away

I'm not one of those nutty news people who NEED to be OUT there in the wind and rain.

anyway, it's weird when the subway/bus/trains are stopped http://alert.mta.info/

but that's better than people and expensive equipment getting damaged and dead.

anyway, Dexter was great and it's not raining at all....but I do hear the wind coming around every once in a while.

Hope your big storm is every bit as exciting for you as our big quake was for us here on the left coast. I didn't feel a thing. ;)

lol, yeah.....

it's raining now.... juice still on :D

I think Sandy is an opportune time for the Romney campaign. He's told us how he's going to cut FEMA to save money. He could use this event just prior to the election to describe how his gutting of disaster relief will better support the East Coast population. I want to hear about how gutting will return the nation to full service quicker after this event.

Supposedly it'll crash into another storm and 2-3' of snow predicted for West Virginia? Being from Minnesota I'd love to see that happen here. The 35" Duluth snowfall in 1 storm was crazy fun. I dropped out of 3rd story windows into the 5' snow drifts on the side of the building.

We're expecting some great photos Cecilia!
