Oh yeah, Breezy Point is a disaster. Hope your friend is OK.I have NO idea if she is safe or what has happened to her home
what I HAVE heard on the radio is that military vehicles will be anywhere polling places have been destroyed or no power. mail in votes have their deadlines extended. I am lucky to have an EXCELLENT governor who is holding all power companies to account. I don't have time to look for his speech but anyone who wants to look for Governor Cuomo speech about LIPA.Some Libertarian friends on Facebook were going all conspiracy theorist claiming Obama was going to delay the voting this year and 'steal' the White House. I posted the opposite that said if anything voting will be extended but not delayed or blocked.
The 'fear of everything' world view survived. DC announced extended early voting. Maryland is allowing extra days for early voting mailings. NY extended days to send out absentee voter registration and extended dates which they'll receive the mailings back. To date no scary government overthrows..
oy veyWhen LA had a power outage people reported strange lights in the sky. Turned out it wasn't aliens as reported. It was the Milky Way - many cidiots had never seen it before.
As she put it
" living on trick or treat candy" humor is always needed in these situations
we had no problem with water. and food was available at the local supermarket. Even if it was limited at 1st (only non perishable foods the 1st day) ...what saved us was the local Panera. They had no WiFi, but we were able to get in and recharge. We had no phone at the house because it's Verizon and works on electricity. Even though there's a backup battery it only works for about 8 hours and I'm not even sure that was true in this case.So long as it stays funny. How're your food & water supplies? Are new supplies getting in?
