Season's greetings!

So how long you going for? Is it cheap to go to Greece these days?

The planning isn't all done but I'm thinking about 3 weeks would be good. Well do a couple of days in Athens probably, walk the kids legs off looking at things that bore them but we'll spend most of our time on Naxos which is the wife's traditional Greek holiday haunt. It's much more built up now than when she used to go though. I've never been myself. Should be fun.

Ya, 3 weeks should be good but in reality there's never enough time. I've never been to Naxos but I've heard good things about it. It sounds like your wife may be a good tour guide, but I have been to Santorini and I would recommend a stop there since you're in the Cyclades already. And ya, Athens is neat but the heat, hustle and bustle and pollution (not to mention occasional riots) do get to people (I know Greeks who refuse to go there). But I like Athens even if it is a bit crazy. There's that new museum that opened recently close to the acropolis which is supposed to be very nice, complete with a glass floor over the old ancient city. Other places to consider on the mainland are the Meteora, Vale of Tempe and Mt Athos. Regardless, make sure you take plenty of pics. :D
