Socialism as the PRIMARY cause of London riots

IMO it has more to do with upbringing, lifestyle and morals. For the most part people in the heartland were raised to value family, church and conservative values. They have traditional red state values. Outside of the heartland, once you start getting into bigger cities, you start getting upbringing that is more focused on pop culture, materialism and expectation of entitlements as a birthright. I'd dare you to find one instance of Amish riots and looting.
I think the statistics disputes the 'family values' the red states have the highest teen pregnancy rate and highest divorce rates in the US. Mass, considered one of the liberal state, appears to have the lowest divorce rate. So 'red' may vote for 'pro-family' but in reality they do a bit worse in carrying it out.

Of course the 'Amish' don't riot because they'd not consider that person Amish. Though I do agree with you that the oppressiveness of religion does quite a bit to control the population. In fact it's been used for centuries and is used even now. EDIT: And the Muslims don't appear to be rioting in the USA either?? :EDIT

It's a bizarre argument given that the country has moved steadily away from socialism for the past 30 years.

Ssshhh - don't spoil the "Blame it on the Commies" fun. ;)

Oh - Welcome aboard.

Not at all surprised and was expecting to see that. That's in large part why I don't think there's any unifying agenda here or revolution, it's just a matter of causing destruction and getting off on it. This riot is more like what we saw in Vancouver then what we saw in Cairo. And in fact, Cairo wasn't so much of a riot as it was a protest, and although buildings were torched, they were specific targets of the regime, where as in London/Vancouver/Athens they were pretty much random including small mom & pop stores that couldn't possibly be linked to globalization or any other imagined evil. So ya, I have no respect for these people and they deserve a good clubbing.

EDIT: I loved this one:
The Sun reported that an organic chef, Fitzroy Thomas, 43, and his 47-year-old brother Ronald, denied smashing up a branch of the Nando's chicken restaurant chain.
Nothing like using a riot as cover to take out your competition!
