State issued ID required.

Obama wouldn't have an embossed Texas certificate. Silly Metalman.
I said you needed a certified birth certificate, can be any of state
Obama hasn't produced a certified Hawaii certificate
When your born in a Hospital its the one with the baby foot print and the physicians signature

Interestingly enough nor has Romney.

But really isn't the use a Birth Certificate point moot? As neither Romney nor Obama is under 16. When returning to the United States from Canada...The only exception to this requirement is for U.S. citizens under the age of 16 (or under 19, if traveling with a school, religious, or other youth group) who need only present a birth certificate

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis_pa_tw_2223.html -- Land or Air travel from Canada is shown as US Passport, passbook or card.

Since I work ~30 feet from the Recorder's Office that issues passport I swung by and asked them. Birth Certificates are only for kids. Driver's Licenses are no longer valid to Canada and the cheapest option is a card instead.

Canadians can get to the Department of Homeland Security website. Presumably it is blocked where you are - to protect your "Freedom" (TM)..
I'm special
I can see that web site easily

Yeah, well so can everybody else.
McDeath has no clothes. Therefore no one else can see the web sites that Fluffy can.

Always nice when people graciously shoot themselves in the foot for you. Thanks Fade. Of course, you won't grant me the full satisfaction by actually realizing what you just admitted, but then again I really don't expect it of you.

There you go again Fluff. I think you are the only person that didn't understand what I said.

Doesn't requiring either a Drivers Licence ID and a birth certificate or a passport to cross through a border check point, disuade the population from taking trips to Canada and Mexico?

Haven't seen that issue in my area. Lots of Canadians cross to shop over here. I and my friends go to Canada quite often.

I don't understand what the problem (for some people) is on the site.
on the left side of that page it CLEARLY states that if you wish to investigate further you have to manually SEARCH.

So I decided to look for Global Entry, type that in the search field and it came up with a few links, one of which is this

as an aside, what pisses me off is that despite this being a way to "speed travelers through the process" they can still stop you "for further examination". so what is the point? Sure the Benefits look good, but not if I have to STILL be concerned about being treated like a criminal. feh
