The Great American Comedy

I wander what the chart would look like if it plotted deaths per hour of use.
Or even by certain demographics. Car deaths are probably more fair, where as gun deaths (aka, murders) tend to concentrate around certain demographics.

You do bring up an interesting point Mike. According to the newest government crime data, just analyzed and released by Pew Research Center, most victims of gun killings are overwhelmingly male and disproportionately black.

Might I add however that overall, gun killings are down 49% from their peak back in 1993. Interesting eh?

I did note the final statement that "the South had the highest rates of gun violence, including both murders and other violent gun crimes." I do admit to being slightly puzzled by that statement given all the effective gun control in Chicago, Los Angeles and a few other places but then again, if you are simplifying to total land area, I can see how you might arrive at that conclusion. ;-)

Overall Article:

And finally, I took particular interest in the statement, "Yet few Americans are aware of the dramatic drop, and more than half believe gun crime has risen, according to a newly released survey by the Pew Research Center."

Now where do you suppose the sheeple are getting that opinion?... ;-)
