It is really that simple. Here is the report from the Wisconsin Fiscal Bureau The year is ending with a $121Million surplus. The new Governor signed $25Million return for economic job growth, $48 Million return for private healthcare, and $67Million return for lower taxes on business. That's $140Million in new spending. Agree or not that these were good ideas really isn't the point. The point is that the $140Million in spending didn't exist before the new REDs were in office and most of the BLUEs voted against them. And the deficit didn't exist ($121M surplus) and now it does. There are certainly problems with both parties and in many states. That does not change the fact that the most spectacular failed states are historically BLUE states. You make the argument WI failed due to the recent new gov, that sounds far too simplistic.
I've agreed that BLUEs aren't prefect. Where I disagree is the assertion that the REDs are perfect. The best example will always be CA (please don't tell me Arnie is a Republican). When taking the left's ideology to the extreme, you get CA which is a spectacular failure. The right has problems for sure, but the ideology is sound when it is not just lip service.
BLUE: California is bad w/ a $25Billion deficit. That's about 29% of the overall budget or roughly $675 per person.
RED: Texas is also bad w/ a $13Billion deficit. It's worse budgetarily as it's nearly 32% of the budget. It's a bit better per person around $520.
