Interesting. That article suggests the riffle wasn't fired "Straight" up at all, but possible closer to a 45 degree angle or less. In fact, bullets falling straight down pose the least amount of danger.

At any rate, my definition of "Straight up" in this thread was a pretty lax one, basically, anything over 45 degrees. And I imagine that buckshot raining down on you isn't likely to be all that dangerous just as it isn't all the dangerous if hit directly from a certain distance. I'm sure Cheney knows all about that.
