You are just making stuff up here. We've all been here all along and we know where this tidbit is coming from and it's already been pointed out but you still go off and say what you said like we're all stupid. That is completely insulting and you are completely embarrassing yourself.

I was trying to gently point that out but, well - WHOOOOOOOSH - right over the head.

Even the 'misinformation' gaff doesn't appear to have registered.

@Jim:

That's a couple of times in the last few weeks alone that you've had it pointed out to you that you are posting lies (or 'misinformation' if you prefer). I've also tried to explain how this has a negative effect on any attempt at debate.

Your response? A refusal to acknowledge responsibility for any, aherm, 'misinformation' on your part, followed by more of the same.
This is personally disappointing because, whilst we often disagree, I usually feel I can take your points seriously and have a discussion with you but over the last coupla years you've become more and more hyperbolic and over the top.
The more you do that, the less likely anything you say which *isn't* over the top will be taken seriously . When you add in recent, flat out lies, the whole debate becomes an exercise is absurdity.

You have genuine concerns, as do we all, but it's difficult to discuss them if we can't cut down on the exaggerations, hyperbole and lies.

So, Sarah Palin yelled "blood libel". How's that working out?
I imagine that might be alienating Jews who own that term. Of course, that's not really her base but it's still a dumb thing to say. This could be quite bad for her media relations. I remember Ann Coulter saying that Jews needed to be perfected and that was about the last time I heard from her. I know she's still kicking around but no-one really cares anymore. I wonder if Palin's "blood libel" charge will do the same for her.

Apparently working out just fine. Only the mainstream press seems to have tried to make an issue of it. Even Alan Dershowitz has defended Palin's use of the term. No story here folks... move along. :pint:

PS: For the record, I am not defending Palin. IMO she ended her political career when she resigned as governor of Alaska. I'm merely attempting to point out that in this particular instance, she did nothing wrong.

Ta-da. And you may like to think otherwise but ALL the press that anyone ever gets to see without effort IS the mainstream press. It is the lifeblood of politics. If you don't have it in your pocket then you have to spend a lot more money to get exposure.

Alan Dershowitz has defended Palin's use of the term.

The term is still highly charged to Jewish ears. If Palin were a Jew they would take it much better but for a Goy to yell "blood libel" will rankle. Dershowitz the Jew defending the Jewish State against (proven) accusations of atrocities by using the term is an "acceptable" use to the majority of Jews but his very meager and perfunctory words there do not even look like they were written to change any Jewish minds but to sort of look like he, at least, wasn't going to burn any bridges.

We'll see in time. Mel Gibson had Jewish defenders too but his ability to get things done was severely curtailed. Has Palin "Mel Gibson"ed herself? It's too soon to tell.

just another example of palin being an uneducated dumbass

Point well made. Personally I don't think that this incident will harm her abilities in the long run. I still don't think they have hindered her in the short run. If anything, the mainstream press has only ensured that she gets more air time... which as you allude to is what she wants / needs to stay in the public "eye". You would think by now that the press would ignore her... much as they tried to do to Ross Perot during his (forced) absences from many of the debates when he ran for office. I guess they never learn...

An interesting statement but one I am not entirely sure is accurate. I agree that on her own, Sarah was unlikely to ever write / use that phrase. She obviously has someone writing for her. The fact that she is getting so much attention / media play from this incident would seem to indicate that they know what they are doing... so maybe not quite so uneducated after all.

I agree completely with this point and moreover, anyone who thinks the type of people who support Mrs. Palin would be put off by her acting like an arsehole, isn't really paying attention.

Having said that, I also agree that if the media decide to ignore or bury her it will indeed be game over.

Personally I'm approaching the point where I'm beyond caring and my avatar isn't *quite* as tongue-in-cheek as it may appear. At least Mrs Palin's bloodthirsty, warmongering buffoonery is transparent, as opposed to Mr. Obama's carefully disguised, fuax-liberal approach. :hammer:
