Elon Musk watch (was Elon Muskrat watch)

Elon went from the left's "real life Tony Stark" super hero that was going to "save the world" and could do no wrong, to what he is portrayed as today.

I don't care what other people think of musk. He was never "MY" golden boy. Yes, I was happy to see development with the spaceship and electric car technology. That sort of progress helps lots of people. I never worshiped at musk's feet.
Some of his ideas are silly and dopey - have you seen Thunderf00t's many videos satirising (bust-ed) musk's hyperloop? They are hilarious.

But I figure that many ideas are going to fail. What matters is to keep trying until you hit on a good idea. My view is that musk buying twitter is one of those failed ideas. And why I suggested he stick with the ideas that HAVE been successful - the car and the spaceship.

as far as that accusation of sexual misconduct, as with every other case I will wait until it goes to trial to actually care.

Do I think some people are jumping on a stupid bandwagon? sure, humans are idiots. Tell me something I don't know.
Water is wet, humans are morons.

If Musk does what he says he wants to do which is to NOT ban then he is a marked improvement over the gang that currently runs the shop.
the problem is that musk is fine allowing twitter to become the Wild West. That is horrific.

As someone who for decades has moderated various forums/ facebook groups / etc. I can tell you that you can't allow bullies and trolls and spammers to roam free. They DO disrupt the conversation. That doesn't mean you allow a moronic AI to kill accounts willy nilly.
Yes, you actually need rational humans to oversee ALL potential bannings.

My point is that musk is not that rational person. I wouldn't trust him to make calm rational judgements about who should be on twitter and who shouldn't.

The man is under an attack almost unprecedented, probably only orangemanbad himself experienced more. He broke with lockstep and now the machine is trying to DESTROY him.

EXCLUSIVE: Bill Gates Poured Millions into Dark Money Fund Attacking Elon Musk

Research exclusively shared with Breitbart News identifies hundreds of millions of dollars flowing from Bill Gates’ foundation to 11 of the 26 organizations that signed an open letter last month urging Twitter advertisers to boycott the company if Elon Musk restores free speech on the platform.

---

In total, 11 of the 26 anti-Musk organizations received funding from a Gates-backed entity.

The New Venture Fund, which in 2020 received the largest one-year commitment the Gates Foundation had made in more than half a decade, funds four of the signatories:

The Tides Foundation, also a recipient of Gates Foundation money, funds five of the signatories:

Two other signatories are tied to Gates Foundation money:

There shouldn't be any decision about who should be on twitter or not. Any real person who wants to be should be on Twitter. Twitter already has tools that allow people to put their fingers in their ears and not hear things they don't want to hear (which may be a bad idea). Interaction with trolls is voluntary. Bannings are a weapon often used by dog-piling bullies to silence their victims (or the result of dog-piling bullies to get rid of people the see as their enemies).
Twitter suffers the most from “Censorship is telling a man he can’t have a steak just because a baby can’t chew it.” syndrome.

Elon went from the left's "real life Tony Stark" super hero that was going to "save the world" and could do no wrong, to what he is portrayed as today. Just in a few short months he suddenly is the worst person who ever walked the face of the earth.

AOC Wants To Sell Her Tesla After Elon Musk Teased Her Online

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) now wants to sell her Tesla, following a Twitter dustup with tech billionaire Elon Musk last month.

The socialist darling bought a Model 3 Tesla back in 2020, which now sell for about $46,990. But after Musk teased her online, she’s singing a different tune.

---

Last month, Musk teased the far-Left representative after she complained online about billionaires for the umpteenth time. “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk tweeted at AOC.

The message was in reference to Ocasio-Cortez claiming her detractors actually just want to date her.

“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet,” Ocasio-Cortez said of critics last year. “Ya creepy weirdos.”

Tempted to re-open the old Muskrat thread for this one.

Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX Hit With $258 Billion Dogecoin Lawsuit

“Defendants falsely and deceptively claim that Dogecoin is a legitimate investment when it has no value at all,” Keith Johnson, who filed the lawsuit, said in the complaint. Johnson is seeking class-action status for the suit and aims to represent other allegedly harmed investors.

Dogecoin was originally designed in 2013 as a joke and to poke fun at Bitcoin. But it went from being an obscure “meme coin” to arguably the most talked about digital asset in the space during 2020 and 2021.

This is mainly because Tesla CEO Musk would post memes about it on Twitter and, in turn, pump its price. It’s now the 11th biggest digital asset, with a market cap of $7.5 billion. At one point, that figure was as high as $88 billion—bigger than the market cap of many companies on the S&P 500.

But according to Bloomberg’s report, Johnson wants to represent people who lost money trading the asset. He is asking for $86 billion in damages, along with triple damages of $172 billion.

Johnson is also asking for an order blocking Musk and his companies from promoting Dogecoin—and that Dogecoin trading constitutes gambling under U.S. and New York law, Bloomberg reported.

This lawsuit will likely go nowhere, unless it can be proven Elon was dumping Doge into his pumps. That said, you can read here me sayin how unsavory and unethical (possibly illegal) it was about Elon pumping shitcoins.

I think its entirely possible if no likely this is all Musk negotiating tactics for a lower sale price. Twitter execs don't want to have to reveal bot numbers in court.

This is how far society has fallen.

Twitter Complains Musk Used Poop Emoji To Disparage Them

Twitter, which is attempting to force Elon Musk to consummate his buyout deal, reportedly cited a tweet by Musk in which he posted a poop emoji to claim he publicly disparaged them.

The legal complaint from Twitter alleges that Musk violated his $44 billion takeover agreement by disparaging the company; Musk has threatened to quit the deal over concerns about bots and fake accounts.

This guy is pretty spot on for the most part. He lays out a lot of facts about Musk here and then he takes a pretty negative view of the man. That said, this isn't a hack hit piece. It's the opposite. It touches on almost everything about him.

Personally I'll repeat that while I like some of the things he is doing and think some of it is pretty important, I have no delusion about his full motivations. I certainly do not deify the man, like so many did until a year or so ago. Like all prominent billionaires, they care about themselves and not much else. Any actual good they may do is calculated and done for a reason.
