Iguana meat is sold, goes for around $14/lb in gourmet stores :wink:

Any idea what it tastes like?
If they're both pests and tasty, surely there's an opportunity for someone?
there ya go! if red was a real (old style) republican he'd be out there catching those things and selling to expensive restaurants!

come on red, show your true colors! :mrgreen:

Haha

Actually truth be told, I'd make a poor redneck. I wouldn't know how to clean or field dress anything.

Hmm.. Come to think of it.. Over the holidays I was dreaming of retirement and practicing "git off mah lan!!!" :lol:

Gotcha, thanks for the compliment! :)

@metalman

Thanks for the clip! Sounds like something one of the knuckleheads down here would do. Throw a bunch of frozen iguanas in the back of their warm car and freak out when they wake up! :lol:

Tonight will be interesting. It is almost noon and the the hottest time of day is approaching, but the temp has been dropping. Weather.com claims it is 44F. It has been raining too, what a miserable day! That's some cold rain :shock: I'm curious to see just how low it will go tonight.

You could always move to the North Pole where they are having an unseasonaly warm time at the moment. It's about 8 degrees (15F) above normal at the moment. mind you - it's still plenty cold enough to freeze the iguanas off a tree.

Florida bans catching of snook, bonefish and tarpon

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl- ... 6824.story

The state has temporarily banned the catching of certain saltwater fish because the recent cold snap killed too many of them.

The state canceled the upcoming snook season and banned the catching of bonefish and tarpon until April.

The cold snap killed thousands of fish.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission Chairman Rodney Barreto called the ban "a proactive, precautionary approach."

He said it is warranted to preserve the state's population of snook, bonefish and tarpon, which are among Florida's most-popular game fish species.
