Result is man springing into sky and down into a chasm.

Today was the coldest day in 6 years, some areas tied 13 year records.

Officially, only two cold temperature records were set this morning: It was 33 degrees at Palm Beach International Airport and 37 degrees in Miami Beach, both readings tying records set in 1996 for this date.

Unofficially, it was – and still is – surprisingly chilly out there, thanks in part to the strong breezes, keeping the wind chill down.

Much of the region saw freezing temperatures early this morning, making it the coldest day in South Florida since Jan. 24, 2003, said meteorologist Robert Molleda of the National Weather Service in Miami.

Some low readings:

Palm Beach County:
Jupiter Farms: 29
Belle Glade: 30
South Bay: 31
Boynton Beach: 31
North Palm Beach: 32
West Palm Beach: 32
Palm Beach Gardens: 32
Boca Raton: 32
Wellington: 33

Well actually yes. Minnesota was in the mid-30s. Today resulted in people walking by the road without jackets on and people driving cars with windows open.
