If you're a Democrat

So then bring back the (POTS) corded rotary phones owned by Ma Bell hung in the kitchen.
You better include a TV, wouldn't want the "highly informed" to miss an episode of Jerry Springer.
And Faethor now says they need a Volt too, transportation is a basic "right" too

@Metalman,

You won't get far by mischaracterizing statements. I commented on the items within society that we do to help to create informed citizens. So we do things like materials (books, computers in libraries) and access (libraries, roads, broadcast signals) such that we all have an opportunity to be come informed. Being the Founding Fathers didn't have TV or radio it's a question of how a society at present handles new technology and ensures a common base of understanding and availability to become an informed citizenry.

NOTE: For example, even Red knows this to a degree. He just didn't think it through. He promoted use of POTS lines in homes. (Doesn't help the homeless much but ok.) He didn't promote even older technology. For example he didn't say recreate local telegraph stations or send it by Pony Express. Why? Because we as a society have advanced our technology that he considers the basic state of a person is POTS not telegraph.... Thus, we can see as we advance our technology and change our communication to ensure a 'pursuit of happiness' there may be times we carry the least of those among us over difficult areas.

"An informed citizenry is the only true repository of the public will." -Thomas Jefferson.
