If you're Republican

Wasn't sure which picture you were referring to as the link got gacked in the reply - but I see it's the first one in the thread. Where exactly is the hypocrisy?

Oh, I think I know this one:
on the left? ;)

it's lip service. They don't actually like THEIR ancestors because they don't remember them.

I remember my grandparents and my mother/aunt/father and his father. I KNOW and SAW the sacrifices they made for me. I KNOW what it meant to be American from THEM. It's not some faraway long ago thing....it's real and happened in my life.

Nice try C but once again, I call trolling on this one. I remember my grandparents and one great grandmother quite well. I also wouldn't be here without my German born and raised mother coming to the USA.... Legally. I find her thoughts on this immigration "issue" most interesting. :-)

didn't you just prove my point?? ;)

Really?! I'm calling trolling on this one...

yes, and i prefer to think of it as a broad, sweeping generalization that is largely true... not sure when your ancestors arrived here but when mine came, they needed only sign in to the "hey we're here log", swear they'd call this place "home" and then get on with the business of living.... what it takes to be a legal immigrant isn't the same as it was, once....

Good to see you back Lee:)

This sort of revisionist history on display on Whyzzat is happenening all over the liberal mainstream corporate bullshit media. Libs are just doing what libs do, repeat what they are told to think by their TV.

nah you're just trained to think that way by the folks you listen to... most of the people on here post links to the more obscure but mutually respected news sites and rarely have i seen a link to mainstream news (other than colbert or stewart)... makes it easier to dismiss opposing ideas when you can just 'wholesale disregard them for albeit false reason, at the first... instead having to actually explain why this idea or that won;t work you just scream socialist! communist! at the top of your lungs, until people go away having been unable to reason with you.

Ummm.... What is the site you reference Faethor? Never seen it before and it makes no sense to me.

didn't you just prove my point?? ;)

Actually I don't see how I helped / proved your point C. Are you advocating open borders? I just want immigrants to follow the law... Period. Sure, laws today are far more restrictive and cumbersome then they were in the past but they are the law. You go through the process and you have my full support. You skirt the process and I have no sympathy. How is this a difficult concept? Want the immigration laws changed? There is a process for that... ;-)

Your ancestors followed the law of the day... so it appears (to me). To them I would have said "welcome". As I've already posted, if you don't like the current immigration laws, work to change them, per the process. This is not the 1700s, 1800s or early 1900. The laws changed, for better or worse.

Yup and IIRC, I was the only one on Whyzzat for sweeping immigration law changes. Me thinks some libs are being a wee bit hypocritical ;)
