I was personally hoping for Romney as I believe that would have been the wisest and most benificial VP candiate for McCain but hey... I'm just one voter.

Early on voters were polling about 30% stating they'd never vote for a Mormon. In addition, the Christian Evengelican wing of the Republican Party still has significant pull. They'd not run a Mormon as that'd be (in their eyes) anti-Christian.

Personally, I struggle to understand how anyone capable of thought can be anything other than Agnostic or Atheist but just because someone believes in an absurdly preposterous faerie story, wouldn't stop me voting for them.

Really? I'm as eager to vote for someone who believes in fictional fairy tales as someone who's been locked in a rubber room for 30 years. Personally, I'd prefer someone who's capable of free thought and can demonstrate it. A brainwashed religious nut doesn't fit that category.

What religon am I? I have no problem with most organised religons, what I have a problem with is cults or if you dont like that term, say Religons that fall outside the laws of our country. Unlike the mob here, I believe religon is a deeply personal experience and should be respected as long as it does not harm other people. Mormons (LDS) and JW harm those around them.
