Multiple vaccine doses have resulted in 145,000 child deaths in last 20 years

Ya, I'm not sure that vaccinating against multiple pathogens is a bad thing. If anything, the anti-vaccers should approve of that as ultimately less vaccine preservatives are injected.

The big problem here is that those who are anti-vaccine have a conclusion and are now searching for the facts to support it. This is why no one should take them seriously.

145,000 vaccine deaths... now, let's roll that into a comparison to gun-related deaths, and even pare it down to "assault weapon" deaths. Amazingly, I'd bet you that vaccine has killed more than scary-looking rifles...

Seriously?
I didn't realise you had this much of a hard-on for guns but each to their own, I suppose.

Thanks Red, that solves that. I guess we can cancel all the ongoing research now, that youtube video is definitive proof. And by the way, here's some proof that space aliens have recently visited Chile:

Correlation is not causation. The flu shot takes roughly 2 weeks to be effective. Once effective the rate of prevention is about 60%. He clearly didn't have time to build up his immunity. And even if he had there isn't a 100% guarantee of prevention. Flu-like symptoms is unmoving. Let's see him get a culture to show what disease it is..and of course to rule out possible faking, either purposeful or psychological.

Next time lock Piers Morgan in a clean room 4 weeks before, and 4 weeks after the shot. Don't let him near anyone. Let's see those results.

Uh-oh, this will make some heads explode here.

Labor Unions Oppose Mandatory Flu Shots

  • American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) representing 9 million workers: “The Healthy People 2020 Objective of 90 Percent Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Among Health Care Personnel Is A Goal Rather Than a Mandatory Requirement”

“Unilateral Implementation Of Mandatory Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Programs In Unionized Healthcare Facilities Is A Violation Of The National Labor Relations Act - NVAC Should Not Endorse Illegal Acts By Employers”

“Healthcare workers must be permitted to refuse the annual seasonal influenza vaccination without fear of reprisal for medical, religious, or personal reasons.”
  • American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) representing 1.6 million members: “… cannot endorse Recommendation # 4 urging that employers require influenza vaccination without allowance for medical, religious and philosophical exemptions”
  • American Federation of Teachers (AFT) representing 1.5 million members: “The mandate should be the adoption of a comprehensive standard similar to OSHA blood-borne pathogen standard with requirements for training, voluntary immunization and declination after education."
“The AFT believes that establishing a mandatory seasonal influenza program is a change to the terms and conditions of employment. Therefore those healthcare employers with unionized workforces cannot unilaterally implement mandatory influenza programs with the consequence of discipline or discharge for those unwilling to do so without negotiating with the union should the union wish to do so. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) recently upheld that right in its decision in the Virginia Mason Hospital and Washington State Nurses Association, Case 19-CA-30154, August 23, 2011.”
  • Association of Flight Attendants-Communications Workers of America (AFA) representing 60,000 flight attendants at 23 airlines: “AFA does not support making influenza vaccination a condition of employment for HCP. As stated in the draft report, this is a controversial and hotly debated recommendation. It is also one that if adopted will have significant, career-altering consequences for workers who object strongly (for whatever reason) to influenza vaccination.”
  • Association of American Physicians and Surgeons: “The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), a national organization of physicians in all specialties founded in 1943 to preserve the sanctity of the patient-physician relationship, objects strenuously to any coercion of healthcare personnel to receive influenza immunization.”
It is a fundamental human right not to be subjected to medical interventions without fully informed consent.”
  • National Nurses United (NNU) representing 170,000 members across all states is the largest professional association and labor organization of director care registered nurses: “…we cannot support mandatory vaccination policies, because, rather than being educated on the importance of vaccination, employees are instead coerced into accepting the vaccine, or risk being punished, retaliated against, and, in some cases, fired by their employer. Mandatory flu vaccination programs engender distrust and resistance among employees; offer a disincentive to providing vaccination education to employees, and raise ethical and legal questions about the personal employment rights of employees. This is not the way to protect public health.”
  • The Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions representing 28 local unions with 95,000 frontline employees: "Employee relations and public health are not well served by the use of coercion to achieve flu vaccination ends. And it is not consisted with our national values openness, respect, and informed consent around medical treatments we receive.”
  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA): “OSHA is a strong supporter of appropriate education, ready access and signed declination statements for HCP vaccinations. OSHA's bloodborne pathogen standard regarding Hepatitis B education and vaccination is a best-practice model. Influenza vaccination exemptions should be allowed for HCP with valid medical contraindications to vaccinations, or religious and/or personal objections.”
  • United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union is among the first unions in the United States to organize health care workers and represents 30,000 members throughout the health care sector: "The USW supports effective, voluntary programs for influenza vaccination ofhealthcare workers..." Employers are prohibited by the National Labor Relations Act, and other labor laws with similar provisions, from making unilateral changes in conditions of employment including health and safety. A mandatory vaccination policy would certainly fall within this category..."
"In conclusion, we urge NVAC to drop the recommendation for mandatory vaccination as a condition of employment for healthcare workers...”

Good site BTW.

Correlation is not causation. The flu shot takes roughly 2 weeks to be effective. Once effective the rate of prevention is about 60%.

We've discussed these numbers before and how they arrived at them, let's just say I disagree.

Study after study (that was not unduly influenced by the pharmaceutical industry) has reached the same conclusion—that flu shots simply do not work as advertised. For example:
  • Giving young children flu shots appeared to have no impact on flu-related doctor visits or hospitalizations during two recent flu seasons, according to a study published in the October issue of the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine.
  • The flu vaccine is no more effective for children under 2 than a placebo, according to a large-scale, systematic review of51 studies, published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.
  • NO studies have conclusively proven that flu shots prevent flu-related deaths among the elderly.
  • A study published in the Lancet just found that influenza vaccination was NOT associated with a reduced risk of pneumonia in older people. Why is this important? Because 35,000 of the 36,000 “flu” deaths the government claims happen each year are actually caused by diseases like pneumonia, and NOT the flu.
  • Research published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine also confirms that there has been no decrease in deaths from influenza and pneumonia, despite the fact that vaccination coverage among the elderly has increased from 15 percent in 1980 to 65 percent now.
For even more information, studies and statistics about the flu shot, please review this previous article.

*sigh* The funny thing is Red, most of what you post is true. Vaccinating the very young and the very old isn't that effective. The doctors and drug companies tell us this as well. Those groups rely on herd protection more than anything. Japan used to have MANDATORY flu shots for all school aged kids. Due to mass stupidity, they got rid of it. Almost instantly after that, deaths in the elderly shot up significantly: The Japanese Experience with Vaccinating Schoolchildren against Influenza

The excess mortality from pneumonia and influenza and that from all causes were highly correlated in each country. In the United States, these rates were nearly constant over time. With the initiation of the vaccination program for schoolchildren in Japan, excess mortality rates dropped from values three to four times those in the United States to values similar to those in the United States. The vaccination of Japanese children prevented about 37,000 to 49,000 deaths per year, or about 1 death for every 420 children vaccinated. As the vaccination of schoolchildren was discontinued, the excess mortality rates in Japan increased.

So if you want to protect the elderly, you vaccinate the school aged children. Of course, perhaps you'd rather kill off the elderly as you may consider them a drain on society, after all, they don't really do much. It's amazingly effective and a natural way to target a specific age group. I guess that's one way to solve the pension problem!

Its amazing how pro-lifers are against preventative and universal healthcare.

@red,
Its no surprise that unions are for individual rights. IMO if you are a healthcare worker you took an oath to do not harm. Increasing the likelihood you would be spreading disease is stupid and against your oath. Would you promote Drs don't have to wash their hands between surgeries because it violates their personal rights? Or that a Dr not give you a blood transfusion because it violates her faith?

Its amazing how pro-lifers are against preventative and universal healthcare.
I'm also very much convinced that those who write articles like what Red posted know ALL the facts, and know which ones not to include in their articles.

Make it four years, just to be sure.

let's hope Morgan gives murdoch his germs :D

Why do you dislike him so much?

I'm not Piers' biggest fan and there are a number of reasons for this, some of which are similar to my reasons for not being a big fan of Rupert Murdoch either.

In short, he's a peddler of, by turns, vacuous and mendacious nonsense.

Ok. I only know him from the talent shows and his current gig with CNN - although I've never actually watched him on CNN. I do know he's pro gun regulation, so he can't be all bad.
