Multiple vaccine doses have resulted in 145,000 child deaths in last 20 years

I do know he's pro gun regulation, so he can't be all bad.

I don't think anyone's all bad. Even the most heinous figures in history are usually decent to their family/friends/dog/imaginary pal.

Ok. I only know him from the talent shows and his current gig with CNN - although I've never actually watched him on CNN. I do know he's pro gun regulation, so he can't be all bad.

You mean he is against the Constitution.

Nice cherry pick.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I know pro-gun advocates cling to this as proof the constitution guarantees all citizens the right to own firearms for whatever purpose, but that's a bunch of bullshit. There's no reason why anyone should believe that this constitution provides any such guarantee outside of a well regulated militia whose purpose is to protect the security of a free state. And that's to say, firearms are not protected by the constitution for the use of self defense and definitely not for recreation.

Irony bypass....

If I were having children now, I would think hard and long before putting them through the modern vaccine regiment. 1 in 80 boys being born now will be diagnosed with autism, a disease that used to be so rare most doctors would never see an autistic person in their practice. This number is expected to go UP. Something is causing it and sticking your head in the sand does not help anything.
Your contributions to your child's genetic code appears to be a better source.

Anecdotal evidence isn't really worth much. But it seems our good friend Red doesn't care much for our statistics and science. So I say, if you can't beat them, join them!

So Red, meet Dana McCaffery:

She's dead. She died from whooping cough. She died because her parents never had a chance to vaccinate her as she was just born. At that age, like all newborns, Dana depended on herd protection, but she was unlucky to live in an area where the anti-vaccination cult had an entrenched following.

@Glaucus,
Good anecdote.

Certainly vaccines have done good. Polio is nearly eradicated. Small Pox is gone.

For Pertussis (Whooping Cough) often an infant will be hospitalized because they are the hardest hit with dehydration and other side effects. Some of these, as shown above, lead to death. It can be treated with antibotics. When that happens it appears the disease isn't cured but minimized. It has to run it's course. Usually 2 weeks for the first symptoms, 2 weeks of coughing, and 2 weeks to 1/2 a year of recovery. Pertussis is a cyclical disease, we see it every 3-4 years. Due to reduced vaccines in 2012 Minnesota saw nearly 5K cases, the largest in the last 65 years. Other States, like Washington and Wisconsin, saw similar numbers. Can you imagine your child with Whopping Cough? Death rate in the modern world is low, about 1/4 of 1 % of people with the disease. Though death favors the newborns. Also, in the modern world most families have parents who work. The US has FMLA leave to care for your sick child. There's no guarantee of pay when you take FMLA, just that you'll have a job to return to. A family without income for 2-6months can be a hardship itself. DTaP chance of dying is slightly less than 1 out of 1 million. Don't take DTaP and get infected your chance of dying is roughly 2,500 out of 1 million.
