So what you're saying is Democrats aren't specist and don't favor species for emotional reasons? That's not overall bad. There's little reason to not eat dog but eat pig for example. If we value intelligence and socialbility the pig is thought to be superior to the dog.

Though this Democrat is, at best, a pescatarian. Inconsistent treatment of animals is one of the many reasons I don't eat birds, cows, or pigs. Fish - I don't feel too badly for their memory is, at best an hour. They have very limited intelligence. And well I'm human - it's sometimes hard to find anything vegetarian on the menu and fish is my cop out.
