The "Trinity United Church of Christ" is not a Christian church, just as the "Nation of Islam", "Unitarian Universal", "Jehovah's Witnesses" or "Christian Science" are not considered Christian.
Jehovah's Witness are Christian. They're not Paul derived such as mainstream Christian churches. They're just the wrong kind of Christian, so wrong that Christians are willing to discriminate against them and exclude them from their faith. Mainstream Christians are Paul dervived. Both Paul and John Smith never met Christ just heard his word.

Jehovah's Witnesses cult members consider themselves to be 'the only true Christians" but they are a Non-Christian denomination. Jehovah's Witness deny the deity of Jesus as Christ. They believe Jesus was a created being, assigned to die on the cross, and was resurrected only in spirit. They believe that Jesus was granted "Kingship in Heaven" in 1914.

John Smith? Pocahontas?

Yup you're right unregulated capitalism isn't a problem other than a 700,000,000,000 dollar problem.

Chris Dodd and Barney Frank head the oversite committees. What could go wrong? Their checks cleared.

Sorry Joseph Smith. It's cultish when 1 religion declares another not worthy, aka cult, because they simply believe the wrong way even if it is about the same diety. Again I think you have fully proved that Obama is simply the wrong kind of Christian for other types of Christians.

Myself -- all for keeping religion out of Government. Adams first veto and I believe the first veto ever by a President was against funding religion sources. Yet we have a President that made a cabinet dedicated to funding religions. figuess Bush knows better then one of our first presidents.

Sorry Joseph Smith.

Joseph Smith founding prophet of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) didn't have anything to do with Jehovah's Witnesses which was founded by Charles Taze Russell.

Christ: From the Greek christos meaning “anointed one,” equivalent to the Hebrew “messiah.”

If Jehovah's Witnesses belief's reject Jesus as the Messiah, how can they be classified as Christrian believers?

Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult because sociologically they act like a cult.

Using the word Christ in it's name doesn't make it a Christian denomination.

Article 6 of the Constitution provides that no religious test shall be required as a qualification to any public office.

1st amendment to the US Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

The establishment clause is to prevent government imposition of religious beliefs on individuals, establishing an official church as the Anglican Church was in Britain.

Sorry yes you are right. I have been recently dealing with a Mormon friend who was not allowed to attend a private Christian college because Mormonism isn't Christian. Well, he could have attended but was excluded from any college grants due to his religion.

They do believe that Jesus was the Son of God, that his death served as a sacrifice to pay for sins of mankind, that he was resurrected in spirit, and that he will come again. JW consider themselves Christians. As I stated other more mainstream Christians do not consider them part of the Christian church as a whole.

Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult because sociologically they act like a cult.

An interesting list. Catholics seem to fit items 1,2,4,5,6,8,10,11,12 and sometimes 14. Catholic is a cult then by this standard.

Yes we as a society are dwelling on if Obama is the right Christian. McCain and other Republicans are associating Obama with the Anti-Christ. The first meeting was at a church and focused frequently on moral topics... Focusing on religion, falsely accusing the other of the wrong religion is exactly conducting a religious test.

1st amendment to the US Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Yes seperation of church and state. Making a department funding religious organizations was against the design. Bush's faith-based inititatives do make a religious test for government funding of a religious organization. So clearly against the law respecting an establishment of religion as it enables government influence of religion.

My views are a very strict seperationism. I think there are 2 good reasons. Thomas Jefferson was worried about religion corrupting government. I forget who (I think Adams) was worried about government corrupting religion. Both founders coming with strong reasons to ensure seperation between the 2 from different angles.

Which brings up another topic that will come up this election. Over 30 religious leaders will be supporting a candidate from the pulpit. They wish to test the well established ruling that taxes do not have to be paid if churches exclude themselves from politics.

“As for homosexuality, I am not going to judge Americans and the decisions that they make in their adult personal relationships. I have… one of my best friends for the last 30 years happens to be gay and I love her dearly. She’s not my gay friend, she is one of my best friends who happens to have made a choice that isn’t a choice that I have made. But I’m not going to judge people.”
So her gay friend, which btw no one can seem to find, made a choice that isn't a choice Sarah made? So are we to conclude Sarah had a choice? She woke up one morning and said hey no more frenching women I'm going straight? Do we really want a lesbian who denies her natural instincts as VP?

I really want to slap people who think being gay (or straight, for that matter) is a choice.

unlike her, I've various friends who are gay and I KNOW the pain they talk about when they describe even family members who (mentally) torture them because they happen to be gay.

who the HELL chooses THAT???

jesus, she's a moron
