Paris Hilton says "drill here, drill now", the air head ObamaMessiah is advocating a, "inflate your tires" energy plan.
AAA, NASCAR and now even flip-flopper extraordinaire McCain agree that proper tire inflation is one of the best things to do to ensure your car gets optium MPG.

This is a good description ---
... estimates of the Bush Administration state that expanding offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. Americans now use about 20 million bbl. per day, so 200,000 barrels per day would meet about 1% of our demand- in about 20 years.

But today efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage 3% and regular maintenance can boost that another 4%. If everyone kept their cars tunes and tires full, we could reduce demand several percentage points right away, saving gas, dollars andCO2 emissions

Attention! Earth to ObamaMessiah! The Shell Answer Man was saying "keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage" in 70s TV commercials.

Most drivers already regularly check their tire pressure and electronic ignition systems don't require constant tuning.

"The ObamaMessiah" seems to think this inflating of tires thing is a brilliant suggestion, that bitter, bible toting, gun clingers, never heard until "The ObamaMessiah" (blessings be upon him) proposed it.

So to say that the energy savings from proper tire inflation will offset energy that could be obtained from offshore drilling is ignorant.

Maybe the next thing ObamaMessiah can do is save me 10% or more on car insurance, ... before taxes of course.

You may. But, the general public? No.

and electronic ignition systems don't require constant tuning.
Yes they are better then older engines. However they do need maintenance.

Example: I bought my 9-2x w/ 36K miles on her around 40K the mileage for 2 tanks in the row were 25ish MPG instead of 27 MPG. It appears the dealer didn't ensure that the 30K maintenance was done. I went back there and they did it for no cost. The next few tanks were 28MPG. So clearly having a properly tuned car does make a difference.

So to say that the energy savings from proper tire inflation will offset energy that could be obtained from offshore drilling is ignorant.
Bush Admin documents say 1% gain in the next 30 years from drilling vs my 10% gain between a properly and improperly tuned engine. You do the math.

And of course it's always good political strategy to pick 1 point out of a myriad from your opponent and act as if this was his whole arguement. Clearly this is in work here.
