I mostly agree, though I voted unsure but possible. A desire to believe may be clouding my vote, I readily admit that.

What do you think of all the first hand eye witnesses, including the ones claiming to have seen alien bodies? All crackpots? Just curious your opinion.

Being an eyewitness to any event can be a tricky thing. If you are an eyewitness to a major event (for example a car accident) investigators want to interview you ASAP. The reason is that our memory doesn't always store what we see / saw. People have a tendency to focus on something specific that interests / interested them, at the expense of everything else they see. Our minds want to "fill in the gaps" as it were so that over time, we modify what we actually witnessed (documented in university and police studies).

Here is an interesting experiment for you to try, just to prove my point. Have your wife or a friend show you a picture (of something you are not familiar with and in color since we see in color) of some major event for just 5 seconds. Wait 10 minutes and write down everything you saw. Wait 24 hours and write down everything you remember (do not refer to your first report). Then look at both reports for differences. Finally, look at the picture in detail and see what you missed and more importantly, what you wrote about that isn't there.

With respect to the Roswell witnesses who claim to have seen alien bodies, well, I wouldn't call them crackpots but they probably did not see what they think they saw. There is the USAF explaination about using dummies for high altitude parachute drop tests ( USAF Dummies ) and those dummies did experience (in some cases) severe compression on impact. Now since I was not there, I cannot say anything for certain but I tend towards the side of history (documented) and not speculation. Time is a cruel player with memory. Find an early written report from the Roswell "incident" and then review reports written by "witnesses" 10-30 years later. What an amazing amount of difference time makes.

Well I'm a crackpot so I voted accordingly.

however...

Digest this..

http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicrend.html

Even the report from the base commander of RAF Bentwaters is on there.

The commander also made an audio recording of the event.

Scapegoat,

Thanks for the link. I haven't heard / read this story in quite some time. Over here it is known as the "Rendlesham Incident" and on the surface does appear to have significantly more reliable information than Roswell could ever hope to have. I would like to see more (official) investigation into this particular issue but given the secrecy surrounding the event (both US and UK), I suspect it is far more likely that there was a classified project going on. Time will tell. I do admit to finding it a more interesting story then Roswell however.
