The Official War on Women Thread

In malpractice case, Catholic hospital argues fetuses aren’t people
As Jason Langley, an attorney with Denver-based Kennedy Childs, argued in one of the briefs he filed for the defense, the court “should not overturn the long-standing rule in Colorado that the term ‘person,’ as is used in the Wrongful Death Act, encompasses only individuals born alive. Colorado state courts define ‘person’ under the Act to include only those born alive. Therefore Plaintiffs cannot maintain wrongful death claims based on two unborn fetuses.”
well, isn't this interesting!

please note this is a CATHOLIC hospital

no one here; including I, would've expected anything less... :D
I've just thought of a brilliant way to get 'peace in the middle east'

substitute every woman in the area with a robot women - heck, they won't notice because they want their women/slaves covered, right?

no more women being raped, stoned, killed attacked, etc. and best of all....the robots rise up and force the men to stop acting like assholes and bullies. The robots set up policies to manufacture alternative energies, build schools, encourage the arts and everyone prospers.

I just love playing god...don't you?

the few opportunities i have had the chance; i enjoyed it immensely. i was a kind and benevolent one... you?
I don't think I've had the chance to really be a god, but I try to be fair when working with others

the war on women ... it is a war on ourselves...
like DNA showing that we are all each other's brothers and sisters (yes, even Hitler and cheney- yuk!) science is where we can find the truth of the matter.

evangelical religion fights against this because they see themselves losing power over their money source

"This view that women are somehow inferior to men is not restricted to one religion or belief. Women are prevented from playing a full and equal role in many faiths. Nor, tragically, does its influence stop at the walls of the church, mosque, synagogue or temple. This discrimination, unjustifiably attributed to a Higher Authority, has provided a reason or excuse for the deprivation of women's equal rights across the world for centuries. At its most repugnant, the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities.... The truth is that male religious leaders have had -- and still have -- an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women. They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter".
JIMMY CARTER, "Losing My Religion for Equality"

Of course, no war on women thread would complete without Kansas adding to the crazy train.

Also north Dakota is going to attempt to copy the legislation that lost Texas a whole bunch of federal funding and a massive spike pregnancies.
