The group hopes its supporters will hit the television ratings by voting with their remote controls should Mr Trump come under attack during the acceptance speeches. The political sympathies of nearly all the nominees suggest that this is possible.

Oscars Ratings Hit 9-Year-Low in Early Numbers

According to Deadline, the three-hour, 49 minute Oscar broadcast on ABC averaged a 22.4/36 in metered market results, in the “early” numbers, marking a nine-year-low for the show.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that figure is down around four percent from last year’s telecast, which drew a 23.4 rating in the early numbers. Last year’s broadcast ultimately drew 34.4 million viewers, enough to make it the third least-watched Oscars ever, so the lower initial numbers could mean this year’s broadcast drew even less total viewers.

Sunday night’s ceremony featured plenty of anti-Donald Trump jokes from host Jimmy Kimmel, political statements from some of the honorees and presenters and one major upset.

“Today’s generation came from BET group—the BET has been talking down our country for the longest time.” Black Entertainment Television is the top cable channel focused on the African-American community.

Today’s young African-Americans have been twisted up by BET, he said.

“They tend to be more racist. They tend to be more un-American,” he said.

Owens said he wrote his book because left-wing politics and policies have destroyed thriving black communities, but no one else seemed to want to talk about it.

“Back in 1910, the NAACP, started by 21 white Marxist, socialist, atheist Democrats, began to intertwine the thought of liberalism into my community,” he said. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is the most prominent of the civil rights organizations.

“We started to pull away from the pillars that always made our country great and towards being and feeling like victims,” he said.

Despite having just recently run an ad campaign featuring the motto “the truth is more important now than ever,” the New York Times has been caught quietly scrubbing Claire McCaskill’s attack on Jeff Sessions after its entire premise proved false.

Unfortunately, the New York Times appeared to miss the memo, instead running with McCaskill’s lie in an article originally titled ‘Democrats Call for Session to Recuse Himself from Russia Inquiry.’

However, the paragraph related to McCaskill’s claim soon disappeared entirely – without an editor’s note mentioning the mistake.

Monk added that many people the couple had known for a long time decided the two were white supremacists and xenophobes without any evidence other than they voted for Trump.

In the transcript for last week’s hearing in Wilding, et. al. v. DNC Services, d/b/a DNC and Deborah “Debbie” Wasserman Schultz, released Friday, DNC attorneys assert that the party has every right to favor one candidate or another, despite their party rules that state otherwise because, after all, they are a private corporation and they can change their rules if they want.

Which party is for the people again? Remind me?

Report: Comey Suspects AG Loretta Lynch Was Working With Clinton Campaign

During his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee today, former FBI Director James Comey stated that, last summer, he suspected then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch was working alongside Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

As The New York Post transcribes, Comey stated that Lynch – whom he reports to – specifically told him not to refer to the FBI’s probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server as an investigation.

“She said just call it a matter,” Comey said during his testimony today. “That concerned me because that language tracked how the campaign was talking about the FBI’s work.”

Comey further stated that when he learned of Lynch’s meeting with Former President Bill Clinton at an airport in Arizona, he decided to go against his boss’s wishes and go public with news of the investigation.

“In an ultimately conclusive way, that was the thing that capped it for me,” he said in his testimony. “That I had to do something separately to protect the credibility of the investigation, which meant both the FBI and the Justice Department.”
 
‘Gays for Trump’ Banned from Participating in Charlotte Pride Parade

Brian Talbert told WJZY that he and another gay Trump supporter of the group “Gays for Trump” applied to have their float featured in Charlotte’s Pride Parade this year but received an email from Charlotte Pride rejecting his application.

“We wanted to show that we weren’t the racist, bigot, misogynist whatevers. We wanted to show that we are Americans, love our country and our president. We wanted to be there to celebrate gay pride,” Talbert said.

“For a group of people to claim to want tolerance, acceptance, and give it to every single person you can imagine to give it to, for them to sit back and judge me for exercising my right as an American to choose my leader without judgment is hypocritical,” he added.

The New York Post reports that in 2014 Caroline Biden was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and harassment after she got into it with her roommate about rent payment. According to the report, Caroline Biden actually swung at a police officer when they responded to the incident.

Caroline Biden’s punishment was a trip to rehab.

Of course, only the best rehab would do for Caroline Biden. She was sent to Caron Renaissance Ocean Drive in sunny Delray Beach, Florida.

Bernie and Jane Sanders Under FBI Investigation For Bank Fraud

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and his wife, Jane Sanders have hired prominent defense attorneys amid an FBI investigation into a loan Jane Sanders obtained to expand Burlington College while she was its president, CBS News confirms.

Politico Magazine first reported the Sanders had hired lawyers to defend them in the probe. Sanders’ top adviser Jeff Weaver told CBS News the couple has sought legal protection over federal agents’ allegations from a January 2016 complaint accusing then-President of Burlington College, Ms. Sanders, of distorting donor levels in a 2010 loan application for $10 million from People’s United Bank to purchase 33 acres of land for the institution.

According to Politico, prosecutors might also be looking into allegations that Sen. Sanders’ office inappropriately urged the bank to approve the loan.

Burlington attorney and Sanders supporter Rich Cassidy has reportedly been hired to represent Sen. Sanders. And high-profile Washington defense attorney Larry Robbins, who counseled Libby “Scooter” Robbins, former Chief of Staff for the Vice President, is protecting Jane Sanders.
