My last Van Halen song here for a while, I promise! ;)

The original lineup through 1984 was quite the unique group of characters. It's only in more recent years, basically since Eddie's death, has David Lee Roth done interviews in a more serious tone showing his true self. He is quite the interesting character and provides some good insight. This starts towards the end, only ~2:20 or so.

He mentions Jan Van Halen, Eddie and Alex's father. This song is AFAIK the only Van Halen song, from the original run at least, with a guest musician. That would be Jan Van Halen on clarinet. This song is indeed a cover, but they kill it IMO.

One of my favourite bands. I've been to about a dozen David Byrne gigs over the years but not TH as the band broke up before I had the chance.

I own 3 TH CDs, they were a cool quirky band with catchy songs. Maybe they were considered Pop, but they had talent and substance to them. Never seen them live in any form :-/

Probably the most obvious follow up ever, going against my mainstream comment
