OK i looked at my comment and thought about it and i still stand by what i said. I truly believe if all the junkies in the world would suddenly die today then the world would truly be a better place. I've got no time for losers. I can't think of any value a junkie has in this world. They are completely useless. I would even say that a junkies life is worth less than that of a cockroach - at least a cockroach has a sense of purpose which means they are better.

Exactly. In my view the only thing that separates a cockroach from a junkie is that a cockroach has a sense of purpose in life whereas a junkie does not. Cockroaches are better.

In my book anyone who chooses to take heroin or crack is a loser and they deserve whatever happens to them. They have only themselves to blame.

For the record my fav muso is Kurt Cobain. I simply adore his music so it's an absolute shame he ended up like he did. As much as i adore him and his achievements i am the first to call him for what he is. He had everything at his fingertips and he blew it. He was brillant, he made wonderful art and he died a junkie. What a loser.

Saying any person's life is worth less than a cockroach is a reflection on you, not them. She was an entertainer, that was a sense of purpose; "Back to black" was a pretty decent album.

Everybody make mistakes. Hers was getting into drugs. It isn't as if anybody sets out thinking "I know, I'll become haplessly addicted to drugs and end up dead. That'll be cool...".

My life has it's moments. I doubt I'll be remembered for much outside of friends and family, but then again, I'm not the one saying that an entire group of people are worth less than cockroaches because they made a mistake in life that the rest of us are fortunate enough to have avoided.

Lets see, from the top... Was the primary driver behind getting AO off of xoops and onto something supported, created a custom proxy so those using ibrowse etc could still access the site. Thus providing entertainment and information for hundreds of people. Is a damned fine coder, both in terms of applications/drivers and web dev. Can play multiple musical instruments and is in fact a fairly decent musician.

Just on those three he has you beat by several orders of magnitude.

Does anyone ever mention the industry that takes in these creative emotional people, puts them through the roller coaster and make a huge amount of money off them and then tosses them away when they are wrung out? That machine and the people that run it to use other people's talents for enormous profit (and sue grandma's for thousands of dollars for having unsecured wireless routers) and will just wash their hands of it all at the end of the day apparently never has any responsibility for the people it uses. Really? You really believe this? I'm confused. I live a full and productive life and you are putting this as of lesser value than to a junkie? I'm confused. The next time i walk past a junkie in the street i am going to look at them with admiration <insert sarcasm> because their lives are obviously better than mine.

I stand by what i said earlier. Drug users CHOOSE to take drugs and they CHOOSE not to get help and then they die as a result of the choice THEY made. Tell me again why i should care?
