Catholic priests arrested after allegedly engaging in sex act in car near Miami Beach: report

The car did not have tinted windows, so officers said they were able to witness the sexual acts upon arrival, the newspaper reported. The two Chicago-area priests apparently didn’t notice the police until officers knocked on the window to get their attention, the report said.

“I parked my vehicle and approached the passenger side of the vehicle on foot,” an officer wrote on the arrest report, according to The Miami Herald. “I observed defendant Berrio in the passenger seat, performing oral sex on defendant Giraldo who was seated in the driver’s seat. Giraldo’s pants were unzipped and his genitals exposed.

Berrio and Cortez are from Arlington Heights, a suburb of Chicago.

Berrio served as a priest at the Mission of San Juan Diego and Cortez at the St. Aloysius Parish in Chicago.

The most paranoid will report the most stuff. the people who have been taught that every word or glance at or glance away from or noticing of a person is a sure sign of hate will ring the phones off the hook - and the police won't be allowed to ignore them because not investigating will be hate.
People who see hate everywhere are hurt by that delusion and should be helped, they shouldn't be allowed to hurt everyone else.

Reading the website I was starting to think is was a wind-up, a spoof site, but police.uk seems to be the legit subdomain of uk for all things fuzz.
The whole thing is terrifying - worse because it seems to be put together and run by idiots. Just look at how poorly written it is:

"Hate can be any incident or crime, motivated by prejudice or hostility (or perceived to be so) ..."
So, if someone thinks you did something to them because you hate them, they can report you!!! How, I wonder, can they tell whether a person is reporting someone because they hate them?

"'Hate' can cause a range of emotional responses, including fear, anger and shock. People experience mental and physical well-being issues such as problems sleeping, depression, anxiety and paranoia. Hate hurts and no-one should have to tolerate it."
I bet being reported for a hate crime can cause all of these things to. Bet Dunkula had some anxiety and sleepless nights. Should he have to tolerate it?

"Non-crime hate incidents include things such as offensive or insulting comments, online, in person or in writing."
This hits close to home. There have been more than a few times I've informed someone online that their god does not exist - and while I regard this as a simple fact I'm pretty sure from the response that the recipient of this knowledge has felt offended or insulted and could have perceived that this was hateful.

"Even if you are unsure whether what you have experienced or witnessed was a crime, by reporting the incident, it enables us to support the victim, deal with it appropriately, work with our partners to better understand hate crime and ultimately, stop others becoming victims."

From the video (spoken by Sarah Poolman):
"Throughout 2017 we've seen a number of incidents across the country that have lead to increased levels of hate crime, but also those being reported to police across the country."

Madness. They seem to have been given some kind of vague mandate to "do something" and even they don't know what they're supposed to do so they make big arse covering statements which will probably end up with someone getting burned at the stake.

Maybe it's time for every man to become a Muslim so at least if you get reported for a hate crime by a woman it will only count as half a report - plus you'll be able to claim that the report itself is a hate crime because you're a muslim.

This probably should be in the Globalism thread.

There's been a cottage industry based upon this running in Scotland for decades. There are journalists who have made careers out of it and government funded "anti-discrimination" bodies whose very existence depends upon the existence "hate" even when it isn't actually there.

How do people feel about that in general?
Last time I was in the UK there were a few whispered conversations about how you can't say anything anymore. I was made to sit in the naughty chair at the airport on my way home for using the word "balls". There is so much language and thought policing going on or at least a paranoid sense that it's going on. Sounds a bit like what people used to say about East Germany - it's not that the government had the resources to listen to everybody, but no-one wanted to take the chance that they weren't the one being listened to at that moment.

How do people feel about that in general?

Depends on which people you talk to.
I'm hopelessly biased (and perhaps paranoid  <dons tinfoil hat>) as I'm part of the demographic that is usually on the receiving end of the complaints. Naturally, people from that group find the situation at best misguided and and worst pretty insidious.
OTOH, your average Scot will usually either be unaware of it or totally in favour of it.

The ones that are most likely to be worthy of being reported are also likely to be very vocally in favour of it.

Man Duped Caregivers Into Diaper Changes

The woman told police that Menchaca occasionally complained “aggressively” that his genitals “were not cleaned enough,” which prompted her to wipe them “more thoroughly.” The caregiver added that Menchaca "had an erection every time his diaper was changed and when he was bathed."

Mustafa, the son of a Sudanese diplomat, told psychiatrist Dr Dinesh Maganty that he was part of The Extraordinary League Of Gentlemen which Mr Yousef was also a member of.

Mustafa believed Mr Yousef was a rival in his quest to solve clues which would lead to treasure such as debit cards, cars and money.
