And still has the brass neck to complain about "fake news".
Unfair competition to China who are now launching their own constellation? Is Elon Musk's Starlink polluting space? Researchers call for the FCC to pause launches
Hmm, I wonder why the change in attitude? I guess it will remain a big mystery!
The Guardian have bailed from Twitter too but their explanation comes across as a bit sour grapesy to me. "Big bad Trump won so we're taking our ball and going home."
I've discussion on this on Threads and twitter.
24 hrs later and Twitter is still not working on my preferred browser so, despite my previous disdainful comment, I signed up to Bluesky. What a snivelling hypocrite I am.

maybe, but I just joined blue sky and it's ENTIRELY much nicer. Like 1000 % nicer. The Guardian have bailed from Twitter too but their explanation comes across as a bit sour grapesy to me
I bet there's a bit of "little pond" going on. Like a ponzi, those in quickest tend to get the best payoff. Also higher discoverability and bringing followers from other platforms that a loyal followers. Older platforms have more cruft, dormant followers, etc. Bots are attracted to high volume sites. As volume goes up bots will follow. Enjoy it while it lasts.I saw this, perhaps ironically, on Twitter. I don't know if there's some wishful thinking going on there but the first three screenshots provide an interesting observation that perhaps points to just how bad the bot problem Musk said he was going to solve has become under his watch. It's noticeably much worse now than when he took over but the numbers below are pretty wild.

Of course. However, in the case of Twitter he made a bit of a rod for his own back by claiming he'd get rid of them, only for the problem to get worse.Bots are attracted to high volume sites. As volume goes up bots will follow.
I'm not on it much so not a lot to enjoy. There's still too many self-congratulatory "Twitter sux" posts on it for me. I expect that will eventually settle down and then it might be a better forum. Until then, I'll probably dip in and out but despite Twitter now being inconvenient on desktop it's still the one I use most.Enjoy it while it lasts.
I've encountered CSAM on Twitter only twice and both instances came after Musk took over, never before. The idea he cleaned it up is as fanciful as him clearing out the bots or believing in free speech absolutism. Almost every time he talks about Twitter he's either lying or just hopelessly misguided.Yeah I don't know about worse since he took over when it comes to bots, but I don't use it myself. That said, Twitter was notorious for being a haven for kiddie pr0n until Musk took over. Previous ownership would ban people for complaining about it. First thing Musk did was clean that up.
maybe this is one reason BlueSky isn't a hell holeI saw this, perhaps ironically, on Twitter. But for how long? It's certainly attracting a lot of new, ehm, "libs"?maybe this is one reason BlueSky isn't a hell hole
LOL, I haven't seen any of those. I looked for science topics, some people I was following on other sites and if there is anything about LEGO. so far not much on LEGO (sad), There are cat photos, however. But for how long? It's certainly attracting a lot of new, ehm, "libs"?
