Has Q chucked it?

Today's missive from "the only platform for free speech on the internet" is proudly proclaiming, "Gab doesn’t host the Taliban."
I'm glad I never unsubscribed as these emails are a hoot. I'm starting to think Torba works for The Onion.

The "JFK is alive and disguised as someone else" stuff is pretty normal for them too.

If JFK were alive he'd be 104 going on 105. There has to be some basic trolling going on.

It's usually JFK jr. they mean, but not always. Sometimes they mean JFK sr. Stark raving bonkers, regardless.

There's always trolling going on but I don't think you've quite grasped how detached from reality Qanon can be if you still think all of these loon balls are simply pretending to believe this stuff to troll. I know a few of them personally and they've lost most of their friends and family because they are absolutely convinced by Qanonsense. This is why Qanon is so fascinating.
Some of the same people believe a federation of intergalactic aliens are on their way to rescue us from clones of Hillary, et al (They were all executed following mass arrests predicted by Q but replaced by satanic clones).
Believing JFK is still alive (some of them think Trump is JFK) is trifling in comparison.

-EDIT-
If you still can't get your head round people believing utterly deranged madness so long as it chimes with their execute-the-unbelievers-wishful-thinking-murder-porn-world-view, have a read through the comments on this report that Dick Cheney is awaiting execution after his own military tribunal. If they were all trolling it would be a bit pointless, since they mostly agree with each other.

I am not surprised by a lot of this. It's almost as if the sillier the story, the stronger the belief. Look at the Christ mythology, look at the stories of the Quran, look at the "trans women are women" crowd, look at the flat earth people.
One of the chief components of these beliefs that seem to make them sticky is that there is an imminent danger from the non-believers - that the believers have the right consciousness and that those that don't believe are somehow "corrupting" to the social order or the world, or a direct threat because of their inherent evil.

I remember when the flat earthers first burst into my feed on youtube. Obviously it's hard to tell, due to the "customizing" nature of the way the algorithm curates your feed, whether what you see is a reflection of what other people see, but I remember, at the time if the burgeoning of flat eartherism, thinking it was some kind of psyop dry run. That would also be a conspiracy theory - just based on a belief that so much nonsense couldn't be happening without a concerted effort because people are smarter than that. On the other hand, people have had crazy manias before, like the Satanic Panic with it's pseudo scientific "recovered memories" to bolster it (everything seems to have its own science - creationist science, flat earth science, gender science, feminist science, etc) - and like Salem - but maybe the panics are driven by what drives panic in general - fear.
The best advice is still that which decorated the number one best seller from Megadodo Publications of Ursa Minor Beta, to wit - "Don't Panic"

Here's the thing, the lines are most certainly getting blurred between reality, trolling for the LOLz online, psyops, low IQ gullible people actually believing and soft trolling IRL for mean spirited LOLz. You missed the official Church Of Satan (multiple ones these days) And others.

It seems some movements start seriously and get co-opted over time, devolving into a shitshow of LOLcows and the deranged. Others seems to have started off as nothing more than 4Chan LOLsters, but get taken over by astroturfers and truly deranged.

"Pizzagate" seems to be one of them taken over and co-opted to be whatever Qanon is these days. None of the people who originally brought up P-gate are using the term any long or are associated with Q-whatever. If/when they discuss anything, those terms aren't used.

Alt-Right is another one. The very first ones using that term were only outside the mainstream because they disagreed with establishment Republicans. I may have used that term once or twice early on. As soon as it started gaining traction, suddenly it was being reported widely that it was all about the *ist(s) and the *phobe(s) and some unsavory elements started showing up.

Well, no. Most of these stories have been circulating for a number of years so little of it surprises me either.
OTOH, I did see one last night which made me smile as I don't think I've come across it before. "The Arc de Triomphe isn't really a monument. It's actually a massive electromagnet which has been secretly supplying free electricity for multiple decades."
Seems to be an offshoot of the more established "Nicola Tesla invented perpetual motion/Med beds" nonsense.

You missed grifters.
There is a ridiculous amount of "please donate to my WWGOWGA fund/buy my Great Awakening merch" grifting by people who seem to be well aware Q was nonsense but spot the gullible suckers and see a cash cow. Fools and their money...

Here's a two hour Pizzagate video anons are sharing just now if anyone still cares.

Disclaimer: I have not yet watched this so can't comment on its content. I will watch some of it later and depending on how entertaining it is, I might do a review. But it will probably take a few days. No one wants to lose 2 hours plus of their life to Pizzagate in one sitting.

-EDIT-
OK, I lasted almost half an hour. There's nothing really new here and it's not particularly well made.
5 minutes in: clip of Trump praising Q anon because "I hear they're against paedophilia".
9 min: a short segment about the Simpsons predicting PizzaGate. No explanation given for the relevance of this.
10 min: recap of "paedo-sygnia".
15 min: truthful but meaningless point that no one can prove that it didn't happen. No, they can't prove aliens don't walk among us either.
16 min: reminder there is no basement at Comet - I'm not sure why they included this. Maybe they try to flip it to a positive later.
19: speculation about Brock secretly being a Rothschild - again, even if true, what does it have to do with Hillary harvesting babies?
20: Obama played ping pong with a child at Comet - I can only guess they think this proves he's a paedo. But, of course, it doesn't.
21: speculation that Alefantis is a paedo as he has no kids but pictures of kids on instagram. Maybe he is but again that isn't proof.
25: Photo of refrigerated room posted by Alefantis with #murder - because if he was murdering children there he'd obviously hash tag it.
28: Alefantis' name is an anagram of "I Like Children" in French. That's it! Open and shut case. Don't even need to watch the rest. Hillary drinks andrenochrome from freshly raped children and this anagram of someone else's name proves it!

I doubt I'll watch any more of this balderdash, despite the narrator imploring me to keep watching till the big reveal at the end.

The crackpot Qanon teacher I know just shared this video of another local, this time Sovereign Citizen, crackpot. I've been aware of this guy for a number of years but it seems they've now become at least acquaintances, if not friends.
This is the website he plugs.
Quite amusing if rather tragic to hear him using the Qanon bromide "do your research" and that he is still duped by such nonsense after all this time.

Perhaps the clearest indication that QAnon poses no threat at all. Any group that would use Scottish people to spread disinformation deserves to fail. Nobody can understand a thing they're saying!

Dinnae gie's ony yer kiech!

-EDIT-
More seriously, I previously never had this guy down as Qanon. I think he was already promoting the Sovereign Citizen stuff pre Covid, although I might have that wrong. I know that's already on the ludicrous side but it was a single issue. The thing caught me here was him using typical Qanon terminology (albeit in unintelligible-to-non-Scots dialect). I've never heard him talk that way before.
