Pedophilia is a sexual orientation

you know red, liberace, david bowie, elton john, prince, elvis. flamboyance without regard is idolized in our culture. how can you fault those who would compete?

red... do you believe in god? and im not asking that in a way to mock your faith at all, as i consider myself a barrabas of sorts as the jury is still out with me, i need more facts... but i'm curious if you are a man of faith because i would offer this in another light...

red another thing to ponder about the pedophilia deviation is this as well... outside of town here is a small farm. and on this farm live handicap people, some children some adults... a blend of both... we arent talking borderline retarded either... like 50's... they call my father to get feed because not many people want to help "them". they run a vegetable and tree farm. and animals they eat. they arent just retarded, they are also sex offenders. they all get social security checks and get medicaid for healthcare. they have disabilities that make them wholesale irresponsible and yet they are criminals too? should that fall under doj budget, or a social portion of the government? should they be treated to a life behind bars? and beaten daily? passionate righteous indignation is a poor foundation for social engineering.... imho

yeah... me too... red? can i take you on a condensed tour of reality? your physical life is beholden to kilowatts and calories, your mind to variety and control...

Members of this very site (left leaning) agree with this IIRC. There was article some time ago about making pedophilia a disability so child molesters could get free money (disability).

Treating it as an illness is a perfectly valid and reasoned view of the issue, how you go about treating it was not iirc ever discussed due to your demands that anything less than total agreement your view was acceptable.

Is this is what the American left has become? They get warm fuzzies about child molesters?

It was precisely because of smears like this that the previous thread got nowhere.

Become a monster and diddle little kids so you never have to work again. I guess.. The American left has been embracing child molesters and child rapists for years (Michael Jackson, Roman Polanski).

Applying that to all of "the American left" without qualifiers was also part of the problem.

Simply locking people up and forgetting about them solves nothing. Learning what mechanisms cause it with a view to fixing it (if possible) is not only more humane, but might itself lead to a reduction in abuse if people with those leanings know they can get help.

Knowledge is power.

It is called perversion. We have to stop coddling evil behavior. If you don't like the term evil, insert other term.

I happen to like voluptuous brunettes in short skirts and knee high stiletto boots, what do you call that? I guess by your reckoning I'm suffering from some kind of perversion, perhaps a few hail mary's, a shot of holy water and a good dose of church will cure me.

That got your attention, eh? Why is it that sweeping generalizations about republicans or conservatives don't bother you? This is Whyzzat you know. It is mostly a one sided hate-fest. I just provide a tiny bit of balance ;)

I like to consider myself Agnostic, which gets me toasted by a few here.

That is not perversion, that is normality :D

I'd agree you seem to be the most balanced of the right-wingers here so probably can reduce the hate some.

Actually I try to go out of my way to carefully define my targets, for example using terms such as Fundamentalist or Evangelical as opposed to just Christian, or Far Right Conservatives. I don't tend to use the term Republican except when talking about politicians. Why? Because according to the polls, most of the republican base seems to be at odds with the party itself.

Ah, we're going through a contrarian not sure if serious phase, gottit :D

All I gotta say is that I hope none of the words in the title of this thread are flagged by my works network filters....

quit shopping at those places if you dont like it... :D

obviously republicans don't like small businesses that put money in the community

You democrats need to get together and compare notes so your official anti-conservative talking points aren't conflicting.

For the record, I could care less. It is always good for a laugh when driving through the area.

I've never been a democrat or have ANY political party affiliation. That said, i have always respected Eisenhower and Goldwater - even when i didn't agree with particular issues. At least they were reasonable people

Mr Conservative, Barry Goldwater, understood the dangers of the Religious Right

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can’t and won’t compromise. I know, I’ve tried to deal with them.”
~Barry Goldwater
sound familiar?

“Everyone knows that gays have served honorably in the military since at least the time of Julius Caesar.”
~Barry Goldwater

“It’s time America realized that there is no gay exemption in the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence.”
~Barry Goldwater

“You don’t need to be straight to fight and die for your country. You just need to shoot straight.”
~Barry Goldwater

“Today’s so-called ‘conservatives’ don’t even know what the word means. They think I’ve turned liberal because I believe a woman has a right to an abortion. That’s a decision that’s up to the pregnant woman, not up to the pope or some do-gooders or the Religious Right. It’s not a conservative issue at all.”
~Barry Goldwater

“When you say “radical right” today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye.” In response to Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell’s opposition to the nomination of Sandra Day O’Connor to the Supreme Court, of which Falwell had said, “Every good Christian should be concerned”, Goldwater retorted: “Every good Christian ought to kick Falwell right in the ass.”

I have no problem with most of that, minus abortion. Good to see common ground :pint:

Also good to see you are not a card carrying Democrat. Every thought about Libertarian?
