Political Jokes 2021 and 2022

Obviously fake. I don't see any fatty wobble-bottoms and piles of fast food.
I haven't even bothered to check if it's real, hence why it's in the joke thread.
Having said that, it's a little worrying that we're not entirely sure.

this is here because bannon is a political joke.

Money laundering, fraud and criminal conspiracy you say? To pay for the wall that Mexico was paying for? Well, I, for one, am shocked. He seems like such an honest, stand up guy.

-EDIT-
As an aside, is there any demographic more easily and frequently conned out of their money nowadays than angry bigots? A rather lucrative vein of income which has led to more and more has-beens reinventing themselves as "contrarians".

Generally it's people who trust that are the easiest to con. That trust can come from a sense of affiliation - that can be cultural including religious (and maybe more especially the religious as a purpose of religion is to increase in group trust). The more developed countries have higher degrees of trust in general because that it a principle ingredient that has lead to developed countries being developed. The levels of cooperation required to make western civilization work requires extremely high distributed levels of trust. That trust is ripe for abuse.

However, if you think it's just angry bigots that are easy to con just remember the angry anti-bigots are equally easy to con - look at BLM for an illustrative example. (of course, I am being ironic when I say anti-bigot, because anti-bigots are just bigots like anti-racists are just racists).

However, the need to control immigration (and the need for a border force) is precisely because the level of trust required to maintain our current societies is so high and to a large extent it is dependent on a sense of common culture and a general homogeneity. Many of the chancers coming in have no affinity for the local populations and are not necessarily culturally miscible. It is a fiction that people are all interchangeable cogs.

As to the wall, if wikipedia is right then over $25 million bucks was raised and 3 miles of border fence built. At that rate the entire border would cost $24 billion which is only double what Trump said the top end of the cost would be. Now, if 300k was diverted to one person for personal use that sounds fraudy - unless he was just paid which would be in line with a lot of other organisations that raise funds for things (like Cancer or Red Cross etc). Meanwhile government military contractors divert gargantuan amounts of money - shipping palettes full of it sometimes and they face no consequence. There is an appearance of favouritism that is hanging over politics. Whether you will get investigated or prosecuted really depends on which side you are on and that is a signature of fascism, communism, nazism etc - and of tinpot closed (corrupt) societies in general.

If I could see the law being in a more even handed manner I would be more sanguine but power plays favourites - though it usually hides it better.
