President Elect Trump watch

How to not do presidential opsec: Crisis management over dinner in public

-EDIT-
Not sure if this is genuine but , if it is, it's perhaps a little alarming:

Not too alarming though. After all, I'm sure all his guests have to go through some thorough security checks. He probably likes to call it "extreme vetting". :D

Not too sure what to make of this one either:

Robert Fisk:
There's a reason why not a single Arab dictator has called out Donald Trump so far
If the President toured these Arab dictatorships, he’d feel very much at home. Great security, fantastic police, lots of torture, alternative facts, extremely dodgy elections and massive economic projects which damage the environment but prove absolutely useless

---

Arab security cops have the kind of powers that the US government envies and would like its own police to possess. In the Middle East, minorities are repressed, judges are brow-beaten, politicians threatened – and its rulers believe in torture. Remind you of anyone? Welcome to TrumpWorld!

Sean Spicer, Trump’s extremely odd amanuensis, and his luckless aides have their counterparts in every Arab ministry of information, temples of truth whose “Spicers” are forced to repeat the fantasies and petty anger of their masters. The parallel is complete, since Arab ministries of information contain absolutely no information at all.

the account was highly fictionalized, and the story much closer to those of an Irish Immigrants
Well, it was a short SuperBowl advertisement designed to evoke an emotional response. It was not a 30 seconds long documentary aiming for utmost historic accuracy.

None of the SuperBowl ads were and nobody should be surprised by this.

Nor should anybody be upset that a beer company did not make a historically accurate advertisement showing how its best-selling American brand is a bad copy of a European beer complete with a "stolen" name and even slogan ("King of beers" vs. "Beer of kings"), etc.

Germans like my great great great Grandfather did not arrive pennyless, he sold his farm, bought tickets for his entire family and moved to the US, then purchased a homestead
You are reading far too much into the ad. Who claimed that the ad would or even should represent the life of most German immigrants?

Adolphus Busch didn't arrive pennyless either.
Who claims he did? He arrived in America at the age of 18 though, which is pretty young.

Bush wasn’t a brewer, he didn’t even like beer. He came to the US to make his fortune. Eberhard Anheuser was the brewer he partnered with
Anheuser was not a "brewer" either. He became wealthy by selling soaps. Both were business men who had been involved with beer production (Bush sold brewery supplies) before they went into business together (which likely only happened because Busch became part of his family after marrying Anheuser's daughter).

So you're cool with straight Soros propaganda? The kind of propaganda that gets people assaulted and killed?

Sorry, only scanned the article - but did they mention any US presidents that Arab dictators had called out in the past? Like ... ever?
The thrust of the article seems to be more about how the Trump regime is closer in behaviour to an Arab dictatorship than any previous US regime. Like ... ever.

Not sure I agree with all of it though, just thought it was an interesting article.
I guess you now think it simply another an example of "Fisking".;)

Have you even watched the TV ad? Even just once?

Trump's own mother was an immigrant from Scotland. Trump's first wife is an immigrant from the former Czechoslovakia. Trump's third wife is an immigrant from Slovenia. In fact, the United States is full of descendants of European, African and Asian immigrants.

So, who in his right mind could possibly be offended on political grounds by an ad that embelishes the challenging and supposedly dangerous journey of a man who moved from a nation known for its beer brewing tradition to the United States?

Trump's wall is supposed to cut down illegal immigration (and border crossings in general). The ad has literally nothing to say about that.

If I was a cynic, I would probably laugh for hours at dumb hypocrites who whine about "leftist" snowflakes and the political correctness word police every other day, only to then - with no self-awareness and zero irony - publically wet their pants as soon as anybody dares to use the word "immigrant" or "immigration" in a TV ad for a product that originated on a different continent.

Unfortunately, I am not a cynic so this is really just unbelievable sad.

So, who in his right mind could possibly be offended...?

I think the answer might be in the question. ;)

-EDIT-
More seriously, I doubt anyone is actually offended. As usual these days, it's mostly mock-offence posing as genuine-offence in order to make a political point.

Flynn contact with Russia: Republicans join calls for investigation

...members of Mr Trump's presidential campaign, as well as other Trump associates, "had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election".

Mr Flynn could have broken a law - known as the Logan Act - by conducting US diplomacy as a private citizen, before he was appointed as national security adviser.

The retired army lieutenant-general initially denied having discussed sanctions with Ambassador Sergei Kislyak. Vice-President Mike Pence publicly denied the allegations on his behalf.

The White House admitted it had been warned about the contacts on 26 January but President Trump initially concluded Mr Flynn had not broken any law.

Lying liar tells lies.
What a surprise.

Embellishing? How about outright lying. OTOH, there was a single ethnic group that did in fact encounter that sort or violence exactly as shown. It wasn't Germans, it was the Irish. Gee, maybe the Irish don't like when their cultural experience is co-opted for obvious globalist propaganda?

who moved from a nation known for its beer brewing tradition to the United States?

You mean the same brewing tradition that moved to Belgium in 2008? A Belgium company playing globalist propaganda during the Super Bowl, the #1 TV even in the USA for the year?

Have you even watched the TV ad? Even just once?

Uh, yeah. I actually watched the Super Bowl. I can tell you didn't. Otherwise you would have seen there was a running theme of one-track propaganda in many of the commercials.

I tell you what. How about Harley Davidson plays a gritty commercial during the biggest soccer event of the year in the UK, and it depicts your MP throwing jews in an oven. Just a commercial right? Why get so upset, right?

Quite amazing how people like you are so eager to jump for joy over something like this, not caring what the real story is and what the ultimate goal is.

Kucinich Pins Flynn Leak on Intel Community, Warns of Another Cold War

During an interview on the FOX Business Network’s Mornings with Maria, former Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said the intelligence community was responsible for leaking information that Trump’s national security advisor, Mike Flynn, had secretly discussed sanctions with Russian officials before the inauguration and argued their goal was to spoil the relationship between the U.S. and Russia.

“What’s at the core of this is an effort by some in the intelligence community to upend any positive relationship between the U.S. and Russia,” Kucinich said.

And in his opinion, there is a big money motive behind it.

“And I tell you there's a marching band and Chowder Society out there. There's gold in them there hills,” he said. “There are people trying to separate the U.S. and Russia so that this military industrial intel axis can cash in.”

Kucinich added the intelligence community could start a war to succeed.

“There’s a game going on inside the intelligence community where there are those who want to separate the U.S. from Russia in a way that would reignite the Cold War,” he said.
