President Elect Trump watch

..and you didn't read past the headline.

Roger Stone, a longtime adviser and confidant to Donald Trump who has been named in news reports as one of at least four individuals under FBI observation over alleged contacts with Russian intelligence, has called for an official inquiry into the swirling crisis.

Context is everything. He's one of the accused, and he responds by saying investigate. Does that sound guilty?

So he agrees with Democrat Kucinich. Strange, you used to like Kucinick also before you had a new object of hate that trumps all prior opinions.

FBI needs to explain why Flynn was recorded, Intelligence Committee chairman says

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Tuesday that the most significant question posed by the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn is why intelligence officials eavesdropped on his calls with the Russian ambassador and later leaked information on those calls to the press.

“I expect for the FBI to tell me what is going on, and they better have a good answer,” said Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is conducting a review of Russian activities to influence the election. “The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded.”

The thrust of the article seems to be more about how the Trump regime is closer in behaviour to an Arab dictatorship than any previous US regime. Like ... ever.

Not sure I agree with all of it though, just thought it was an interesting article.
I guess you now think it simply another an example of "Fisking".;)

Yes, it's content free op-ed. Let us not forget that Adolph Hitler never called out President Trump either. It's really indicative of the fact that the media has nothing to say. They can only attack him on things they don't agree with him on ... and that is almost nothing ... so they make stuff up.

Right, and Iran released their US hostages instead of just "calling out" Reagan.

The propaganda going on now is heavier than it ever has been, by very far. Shame some otherwise intelligent people are falling for it. I'd expect the total plebs to fall for it, but Whyzzat regulars usually have some sense to them. According to JoBBo online encyclopedias are infallible and should not be questioned.

Most Fisk articles are.
Of course, I guess you know that as I seem to remember you posting stuff by him from time to time.

Fisk, and anyone else who happens to criticise Trump, agrees with publicly declared, collective punishment?
They agree with torture?
Also agree with attacking Iran?
And I suppose they also agree with him using the office of president to howk his family's business interests?
Along with myriad other things Trump can be criticised for, even if you agree with him generally.

Or is it that, in your eyes at least, all of that amounts to "almost nothing"?

I'm not really sure he's getting that much stick in the US for those policy positions, at least in the US. Those positions seem to have well heeled supporters. Maybe celebrities might cry about it, but even then I'm not sure they get much coverage. There's much more about 'did he talk to Russia?', 'did his staff talk to Russia?', did he hire strippers and get filmed by the KGB?

Keystone, but not hearing too much griping from the media about that (or Canadian media for that matter).
Hiring Wall Street to watch Wall Street? Not much fuss about that. All the stuff that aligns with the elite agenda that is ripe for criticism won't get any. Only "scandal" is allowed, even if it has to be made up. The actual big deal stuff will be left alone. As always.
A little swamp drainage would be good but the swamp rats won't allow it, it seems.

This should go in another thread, but since the theme is running here ATM...

NSA whistleblower unloads STUNNING claim about Trump…

William Binney is basically a mellowed-out precursor to Edward Snowden. He was an NSA whistleblower during the early days of the Bush-41 presidency, drawing attention to waste in the agency before resigning in October 2011. During his 30 year career at the NSA, he himself was an architect of their surveillance program — but now criticizes the NSA’s surveillance tactics.

While Edward Snowden exposed the NSA was spying on the American public, Binney has an even more surprising claim: they’re spying on the president, too.

Well duh! But OK, go on.

Asked whether he believes the NSA is tapping Trump, Binney replied: “Absolutely. How did they get the phone call between the president and the president of Australia? Or the one that he made with Mexico? Those are not targeted foreigners.” Binney further contended the NSA may have been behind a data leak that might have revealed that Michael Flynn, Trump’s national security adviser, allegedly misled Vice President Mike Pence and other Trump administration officials about the contents of his phone calls with Russia’s ambassador to Washington.

Regarding Flynn’s case, Binney stated of the NSA: “If they weren’t behind it, they certainly had the data. Now the difference here is that FBI and CIA have direct access inside the NSA databases. So, they may be able to go directly in there and see that material there. And NSA doesn’t monitor that. They don’t even monitor their own people going into databases. So, they don’t monitor what CIA and FBI do. And there’s no oversight or attempted oversight by any of the committees or even the FISA court. So, any way you look at it, ultimately the NSA is responsible because they are doing the collection on everybody inside the United States. Phone calls. Emails. All of that stuff.”

You are reading far too much into the ad. Who claimed that the ad would or even should represent the life of most German immigrants?

it was claimed to represent the life of Adolphus Busch, it didn't

He arrived in America at the age of 18 though, which is pretty young. [ /QUOTE ]

that was actually older than many, of my great-great grandfathers, one arrived at age 12, with his father, mother and siblings, the other arrived at age 14 with his brother, my other 4th generation ancestors where all born here

Both John Carpenter and Roddy Piper clearly stated the movie They Live" was not a fictional movie, but rather based on real life. We can see it play out here on Whyzzat.

He's not getting that much stick for those positions anywhere mainstream, as far as I can tell.
Not nearly as much as he should be, anyway.

That said, in the article in question, Fisk does criticise him for trying to undermine the judiciary.
In my opinion that's a valid observation and worthy of criticism.

Gee, was this all a political witch hunt after all?

FBI reviewed Flynn’s calls with Russian ambassador but found nothing illicit

The FBI in late December reviewed intercepts of communications between the Russian ambassador to the United States and retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn — national security adviser to then-President-elect Trump — but has not found any evidence of wrongdoing or illicit ties to the Russian government, U.S. officials said.

The calls were picked up as part of routine electronic surveillance of Russian officials and agents in the United States, which is one of the FBI’s responsibilities, according to the U.S. officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss counterintelligence operations.
