Hardly mainstreaming. It's an exceptional circumstance, and I have heard of this happening before - but it's not usual. Generally siblings raised together do not find each other sexually attractive. However, these siblings were raised apart so they didn't have the usual sexual aversion.
Also, sexual attraction between animals is complicated. Generally second cousin is where the sweet spot is for fecundity - but attraction for relatedness goes up and down depending on hormone levels. Pregnant women are attracted to more closely related men and non-pregnant ovulating women prefer a greater genetic divergence. Women on the pill are often attracted to more closely related individuals and lose interest when they stop the pill.
The original article mentions that the phenomenon of (unknowingly) closely related people falling in love may only increase with the increase in reproductive technologies - but we may already be running a similar experiment because of the way the pill is influencing womens' choice of partner.
Ultimately it's clear from the article that this is an exceptional couple but it also seems that they will not be breeding and that is where the actual problems would come in.
We are merely human and we can choose, to an extent, how we will act on our feelings, but we cannot choose how we feel. Two consenting adults can do as they wish so long as they don't hurt others. In that respect, however, being siblings is the least problematical element of their story.

We started a sexual relationship that first visit, which mostly involved me f*cking him.”
The man claimed that Spacey offered to help his acting career by introducing him to producers, but nothing ever came of it.
And it gets worse.
The man claims the relationship ended when he was 15, after Spacey attempted to rape him in his New York apartment: “He told me to come over, and I went to the apartment. And I thought we were going to kiss and tell each other we loved each other and I was going to go. But he wanted to have sex, and this time he wanted to f*ck me, which had never happened to me before.”
“[Spacey] pushes hard, and grabs me, and starts shoving up against my assh*le, and it hurts like a motherf*cker,” the man claimed. “I again tell him no, and he tries again. I am strong enough, thank God, both somewhere in my brain and in my body, to get him off of me.”
“I always have said, ‘He tried to rape me,'” the man told Vulture. “I told him I didn’t want that, he went again to do it, I told him no, he went again and pushed harder and grabbed me and pushed harder. I don’t know how I would see that as anything besides an attempted rape, which I was able to thwart.”
The man said he started to see Spacey as a “sexual predator” and a “pedophile” a decade after their alleged relationship.

No, I'm just about as (classical) Libertarian as you can get. I do have to draw the line at abortion, pedophilia and incest. Focusing only on incest for the moment, why is it one of the major leftist arguments for abortion is because of incest? Right, it is a crime against nature that usually has horrendous results for the offspring. Pointing to chemical changes in the female brain due to pharmaceuticals or to the animal kingdom does nothing for me. Human's are supposed to be a far more evolved creature than the animal kingdom. Desires for incest in any circumstance proves to me certain humans are not as evolved as the rest of us. I have more thoughts on this matter, but will not state it in a public forum. What I will say is that it is quite ironic that the same Leftists who's bread and butter is to mock southern conservatives as inbred all of a sudden are writing articles glamorizing incest.
As for pedophilia, the term is actually often used wrong these days. It's a far more complicated subject considering historical contexts. That said, what generally has happened in Hollywood is not grey area. It is predators taking advantage of minors in the worst possible way. But that's another discussion.

Actually humans can only be exactly as evolved as any other animal. We've all been evolving for the same amount of time.
They don't have a desire for incest. They feel conflicted about the technical issue of the incest but they do not FEEL like siblings because they did not grow up together. From their point of view it is as if they have met a very attractive stranger.
This is a function of their unusual upbringing, not unusual desires. They don't desire each other as siblings because they do not see each other as siblings - they do not have a sibling relationship - only genetics - and then only sharing one of their parents so not even being full siblings.

You could argue in the last generation or so humans have been de-evolving. With the way society has been going (from my perspective) it seems like society is turning into a paradox. All the negative aspects are increasing such as debt, cost of living, more complex relationships, etc but the positive aspects aren't increasing the same amount. Why are we doing this? No wonder people have abnormal relationships.
@Red. You sound like someone who has been living the american dream and has just realised it is a lie. I don't know what the big deal is with incest. To me it seems like normal behaviour but is something we never hear of. You should try it. You might like it

Reduced Sentence For British Pedophile After Blaming Kiddie Porn on ‘Transgender Crisis’
Claiming sexual confusion led him to download child porn, Sarbjeet Jagdev got a year knocked off his original three-year prison sentence.
Judges at London’s Criminal Appeal Court reduced the sentence after hearing the 23-year-old downloaded and stored more than 1,400 indecent images of small children because he was confused about his sexuality, the Leicester Mercury reports.
According to Jagdev, his compulsion to look at child pornography emerged because the 23-year-old felt he was “unable to confront” the belief that he could be transgender because of his “strict upbringing.”
“For some years, he had been troubled by a crisis of gender identity which he had been unable to confront,” lawyers defending Jagdev claimed.
Breitbart London reports Mr. Justice Spencer allowed the appeal after hearing that Jagdev sought therapy for the confusion he felt regarding his gender identity and sexuality.
“There was a high volume of images and they included moving images,” Spencer said. “The fundamental question is whether the judge took a starting point which was manifestly excessive having regard to the mitigation.”
“He had expressed and demonstrated remorse and started to address his offending behavior,” the judge continued. “In the circumstances, the proper sentence here was two years.”
It appears in the realm of sexual confusion, there’s plenty of Spacey for debate.

These documents were given to us by an American Governement official when he had come to learn that this crime had been covered up by Hilary and her staff through methods including bribery and blackmail. He also told us that due to the restricted access to these documents, they would soon know he was the one who released him to us.
We tried to make arrangements for him to exit the country safely, but he was killed before those arrangements could be carried out. We are still not sure if this is because they became aware of the leak, or if they were scared that he may in the future. In either case, his identity will be made public in this next set of leaks so that he can be honored for the hero that he was.

Schneider has also been the subject of some very disturbing and consistent rumors for years. One need only search his name on the internet to find pretty damning rumors about him going back years. There are stories of his foot fetishes and how he acts them out on young extras alone in his office. There are stories about his relationships with his underage teenage stars and how they led to spin-off shows for the girls or blacklisting for those who didn’t participate.

Completely independent of this story, I happened to be chatting with a former child actor over a week ago. We were discussing Weinstein and she told me that in her youth she worked on one of Schneider’s shows very briefly. She told me, “My friend was molested by that man…on set. Everyone knew it. No one said a word.”
She also said that he told her she was too fat to be famous. She was 11.
If Schneider is the monster people seem to believe he is, some things do fall into place. Jamie Lynn Spears was on track to eclipse her older sister in fame when she dropped out of Hollywood in “disgrace” because of her unplanned pregnancy. To this day she has never said a word about the real father of her child (and kudos to her for bringing her baby into the world). Amanda Bynes is an extremely gifted performer but tragically lost contact with reality for a while. She went on a now infamous twitter rant blaming her parents for basically making her a prostitute. It makes a lot more sense when you put it in the context of a Dan Schneider.
One Twitter user went to the trouble of compiling a collection of scenes from Schneider’s most famous shows. When seen in conjunction with each other they do point to a troubling pattern, to say the least.

By "rape" we are probably talking statutory rather than violently coerced - by the sound of it anyway.
The witness says that Corey told him about the sex and that Sheen shunned him when he wanted to play some more. Sounds like it's ... complicated.
And on a side note - when Charlie said he was "winning" what he actually meant was "HIV+"!

We're talking 13 here. Yeah the legal term would statutory rape. I'm on board with the idea an 18 year old should not go to prison for having sex with a 17 year old. But a rusty-ass adult man with a 13 year old who hasn't been able to learn his own sexuality yet? At 13 puberty may not have even kicked in yet. If Sheen did it, he was a predator. Look how screwed up Feldman is. Haim was obviously worse as it lead to his death.

Is Feldman Hinting at Charlie Sheen Death Threats in Open Letter to Hollywood?
"Well let me be very clear. The man at the end of this bread crumb trail, the coveted name A lister everybody wants to know about has, & does continue to threaten his victims with death. It's actually his go to statement. Anyone that knows who I am talking about can find multiple court records in which defendants have claimed that they feared for their safety after confronting him. Point blank, he threatens people's lives and has a history of violent behavior."
While Corey Feldman does not mention the "A-lister" by name, it's not hard to deduce that he could be talking directly about Charlie Sheen, and it's probably no coincidence that these stories are breaking at the same time. A cursory Google search of Charlie Sheen and death threats comes up with over 326,000 results in under a minute. There are stories of death threats as recently as last year, after alleged audio surfaced of Sheen offering someone $20,000 dollars to kill his ex-fiancee. Further down the rabbit hole and you'll see that Sheen threatened to kill an ex-associate with an automatic shotgun and even threatening to cut Denise Richards' head off. These are threats that anybody can see with a quick search and it's no wonder why Corey Feldman is choosing his words carefully. It's also no wonder why everyone is going directly to Charlie Sheen as the person Feldman is referring to in his open letter.

Tom Sizemore Accused of Molesting 11-Year Old Girl on Movie Set
The young actress portrayed Tom Sizemore's daughter in a flashback scene where she was supposed to sit on the actor's lap. According to the then 11-year old, Sizemore than began to rub her vagina and may have gone further. According to production manager Cassidy Lunnen, the actress was young and not sure if the incident happened intentionally or not. During one setup, which required just the two of them, Robyn Adamson, who portrayed the wife in the movie, stood off camera, near the photographer. She said that the girl, who was wearing a flannel nightgown, had an uncomfortable look on her face. She explains.
Word reportedly spread like wildfire on the set and obviously angered anybody who heard about the alleged incident. Tom Sizemore has been known to have problems with substances and domestic abuse, so many believed the girl's story right away. Production assistant Roi Maufas said that, "It filtered down to the crew." Maufas went on to say.

Corey Feldman Names Third Suspect in Hollywood Pedophile Ring
Feldman made a return appearance on Dr. Oz, where he shared the name of this third man who took advantage of him starting at the age of 12. The reason Corey is naming him now is that the man has already been outed in the press. He is Alphy Hoffman, who used to run a series of Soda Pop parties back in the 80s.
Hoffman owned this particular Soda Pop club, which pulled in the likes of Drew Barrymore, Ricky Schroder and Alyssa Milano. It was successful from 1986 to 1989, and was often sponsored by New York Seltzer. Corey Haim and Corey Feldman often hung out at the club, and were photographed there quite frequently.
Soda Pop Club = pedo ring, check.
"Well he was the guy who ran Alphy's Soda Pop Club, and, uh, I met him when I was 12 years old. He came to my house to pick me up in his car, and I had heard rumors that he threw the coolest parties in town and he was very connected. When you got an invite to go to Bobby Hoffman's private party, this was a very big thing. And the fact that his son was coming to pick me up himself, was also a very big thing, and my mom ushered me into the car and said 'go have fun'. You know, the first few times I went it was fairly innocent. Those parties were relatively kid friendly but interestingly that's where I met the guy that ended up molesting Haim...There was a bunch of these guys, they were all hanging out together at these parties, and the thing is there weren't a lot of parents at these parties."
