Both sides of my family are immigrants to the US. Who did they replace? No one. They made sacrifices and worked hard. They took nothing from anyone and in fact contributed to society.

the replacement nonsense is all about scapegoating people you don't like

That's not really an argument, though technically I could argue that they were still a part of the wave of replacement of the natives in North America - they were a continuation of that European culture that had already done a lot of replacing of the natives and their culture.

People who say that replacement is a conspiracy theory sound to me a lot like those people who call global warming a conspiracy theory. They'll start off by denying it's happening and then say that even if it IS happening then it's a good thing. "CO2 is plant food" "Diversity is our strength".
 
I see a whole lot of conflating going on here from multiple angles.

My family came to the US in the 20th century and they replaced no one.
And, because no one in my family is a "WASP" (white anglo saxon protestant), we are not part of the "IN" crowd. There was discrimination going on. They persisted despite all that nonsense.

my point is that "replacement" is pure and simple racism and bigotry.

I understand someone believing this. It wouldn't be the first time racial unrest has been used for political/financial gains.
What I don't understand is the mindset of looking at people in the eye and pushing red hot bullets in their body, and knowingly putting relatives in a hell of grief.
