Climate advisory panel structured to avoid public records

Scientists with fringe views being recruited to disavow Trump admin's own report.

A global snapshot of the Vegetation Sensitivity Index (VSI) from 2016. The VSI measures environmental sensitivity to a changing climate, using satellite data gathered between 2000-2013 at 5km resolution. Areas in green are covered in vegetation that is the least sensitive to changes. Areas in red show the highest sensitivity. Grey areas are barren land or ice covered.

As we reported last week, the White House hosted a cross-agency meeting regarding a plan to create an advisory committee specifically to attack the conclusions of its own climate scientists. Details of that meeting, and the plan that ensued, are now starting to leak out.

To begin with, The Washington Post reports that the motivation for the effort was made clear during the meeting: Trump was upset by the release of the National Climate Assessment. The report is required by law, and its conclusions were solidly within the mainstream of the scientific community's conclusions on the climate, leaving very little room for attack. So the White House has decided to select a group of government scientists that include members who are skeptical toward its conclusions.

NASA: Earth ‘Greener’ Today than 20 Years Ago, Cites ‘Ambitious Planting Programs’ for Growth

A new study released by NASA this week revealed the earth is “greener” today than it was 20 years ago; citing “ambitious tree planting programs” for the surprising ecological development.

“The research published on Feb. 11 found that the greening of earth over the course of the last two decades has shown an overall increase by 5 percent, equal to more than two million square miles of extra green leaf area per year compared to the early 2000s,” reports Fox News.

CO2 is plant food - and animal poison.

Not in these concentrations. Plants absorb more, and create more Oxygen. Even the Greenpeace co-founder understands this.

Greenpeace founder rips Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘blathering insanity’ and green hypocrisy.

Environmental activist Patrick Moore — the co-founder of Greenpeace — torched Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s comical hypocrisy on Twitter:

“Whoops, AOC is a gas-guzzler. If only she realized that the CO2 she is emitting was helping plants grow healthier and increasing crop yields on farms around NYC. Then she could be sane.

It seems many people agree that AOC is a bit too big for her britches. I’m in good company here.

And the biggest cause of this greening? Humans.
Although plants like a bit of extra CO2, they don't necessarily like the extra heat, and they definitely don't like droughts. They also may not behave the way we expect.
As for humans, CO2 starts making you stupid at much lower concentrations than had previously been realized.

I really don't understand how some of you people here don't understand this is nothing more than a big scam.

U.N. Predicts Disaster if Global Warming Not Checked
PETER JAMES SPIELMANN June 29, 1989

UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.

Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ″eco- refugees,′ ′ threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP.

He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the greenhouse effect before it goes beyond human control.

As the warming melts polar icecaps, ocean levels will rise by up to three feet, enough to cover the Maldives and other flat island nations, Brown told The Associated Press in an interview on Wednesday.

Coastal regions will be inundated; one-sixth of Bangladesh could be flooded, displacing a fourth of its 90 million people. A fifth of Egypt’s arable land in the Nile Delta would be flooded, cutting off its food supply, according to a joint UNEP and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency study.

″Ecological refugees will become a major concern, and what’s worse is you may find that people can move to drier ground, but the soils and the natural resources may not support life. Africa doesn’t have to worry about land, but would you want to live in the Sahara?″ he said.

UNEP estimates it would cost the United States at least $100 billion to protect its east coast alone.

Same talking points get parroted over and over, even current year in current thread. The dates just keep getting kicked down the road. Their "scientific" models were laughably wrong, because there is no real science here. It's all a scam to enslave you.

I'd say it is a little more insidious than this, but here ya go.

Greenpeace Founder: Global Warming Hoax Pushed by Corrupt Scientists ‘Hooked on Government Grants’

Fear has been used all through history to gain control of people’s minds and wallets and all else, and the climate catastrophe is strictly a fear campaign — well, fear and guilt — you’re afraid you’re killing your children because you’re driving them in your SUV and emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and you feel guilty for doing that. There’s no stronger motivation than those two.

Biggest scam in human history, open your eyes.

Wow, even the pro-AGW shysters have had enough of AoC.

Climate Scientists To AOC: Stop Saying Ridiculous Stuff About Global Warming

Andrea Dutton, a paleoclimate researcher at the University of Florida, said the 12-year deadline became attractive for media headlines in spite a lack of support from the IPCC report itself:

“For some reason the media latched onto the 12 years (2030), presumably because they thought that it helped to get across the message of how quickly we are approaching this and hence how urgently we need action. Unfortunately, this has led to a complete mischaracterization of what the report said.”

Top oil firms spending millions lobbying to block climate change policies, says report
The largest five stock market listed oil and gas companies spend nearly $200m (£153m) a year lobbying to delay, control or block policies to tackle climate change, according to a new report.
Chevron, BP and ExxonMobil were the main companies leading the field in direct lobbying to push against a climate policy to tackle global warming, the report said.

Increasingly they are using social media to successfully push their agenda to weaken and oppose any meaningful legislation to tackle global warming.

Canadian government scientist decides to take a chance on his career not ending. At the time a study came out saying the earth was net greening, Canadian government scientists already knew the news not nearly so positive but were not allowed to say so. Late last year he posted this lengthy twitter thread - worth a read.
